Biography

Tobias Prall made an impressive collegiate athletic debut with the Rutgers-Camden indoor and outdoor track teams during the 2021-22 scholastic year. He scored points and earned all-conference honors in his very first meet, the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. He went on to produce a stellar outdoor season, setting a pair of Rutgers-Camden program records and capturing a pair of ECAC championships.
 
Program records (through 2021-22): Outdoor Track – Long Jump (6.81 M) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 8, 2022); Triple Jump (13.72 M) at the ECAC Championships (May 18, 2022).
 
Outdoor Track 2022: Competed in six meets, won two ECAC championships, set two Rutgers-Camden program records, earned a pair of New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors and added one Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week award…Set his PR in the javelin (50.59 meters, finishing second of 18) at the season-opening Stockton Invitational (March 26), while also finishing seventh of 20 in the long jump (6.01 meters) and setting a short-lived program record in the triple jump (13.40 meters, finishing first of six athletes)…Placed sixth of 15 in the triple jump, breaking his week-old Raptor record with a 13.59-meter jump, at the Danny Curran Invitational (April 1)…The next day, set another short-lived Rutgers-Camden record in the long jump, finishing second of 27 (6.60 meters)…Those performances at the Danny Curran meet earned him honors April 4 as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week and also as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week…Finished second of 14 and raised his own program long jump record to 6.64 meters as the Widener Invitational (April 23)…Opened the two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 8) with his PR and new program record in the long jump (6.81 meters), finishing fifth of 19…Also placed ninth of 20 in the javelin (50.35)…During the second day of the NJAC Championships (May 9), finished sixth of 12 in the triple jump (13.53 meters), attempted his first high jump (10th of 10, no height) and helped the 4x400 team finish eighth of nine (a PR of 3:44.80)…Captured ECAC championships in the javelin (first of four, 50.36 meters) and the triple jump (first of six with a new program record 13.72 meters) on May 18…On the second day of the ECAC Championships (May 19), placed third of 16 in the long jump (6.51 meters)…Those performances earned him his second honor of the spring on May 23 as the NJAC Rookie of the Week.
 
Indoor Track 2021-22: Made his collegiate debut at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 21, scoring points in both the long jump (6.39 meters) and the triple jump (13.13 meters)…Finished third of 16 athletes in the triple jump to earn NJAC Honorable Mention…Placed sixth of 18 athletes in the long jump…Also competed in the Fastrack Last Chance meet (Feb. 25), placing 15th of 25 in the long jump (6.06 meters).
 
High School: Captured four varsity letters in track for Coach Danielle Grady at Hamilton West High School…Added three varsity basketball letters…Earned a second-place finish in the CVC Track & Field Championship in 2019…Graduated in 2020.
 
Personal: Born July 31, 2002…Nicknamed “Tobii”…Hobbies and interests include fishing, gaming, cooking, swimming and TikTok creating…Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to play professional basketball…Tobias is the son of Jeneya Richardson of Hamilton.
