One of the Scarlet Raptors’ co-captains on the 2021 outdoor track team, Vinny Maine joined the Rutgers-Camden indoor track team during his freshman year and ran with indoor track, outdoor track and cross country every season that was competed since then. The only thing that kept him out of action was the pandemic, which cancelled the 2020 outdoor season and the 2020-21 indoor campaign. Overall, Maine competed during three seasons of each sport, while also earning academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.

Maine helped to set the program’s indoor track 1,600-meter sprint medley record and previously held the 600-meter dash mark.

Outdoor Track 2021: Competed at all five of the Scarlet Raptors’ outdoor meets, beginning with the Stockton Invitational #1 (March 26), when he finished eighth of eight as part of the 4x400 relay team (4:08.73)…Ran the first of his three competitions at 800 meters during the Stockton Invitational #2 (April 2), finishing 16th of 26 (2:11.96)…Ran 800 meters at the Bill Fritz Invitational (April 17), placing 19th of 25 (2:09.92)…Took a break from his usual 800-meter specialty when he competed in both the 200-meter dash (16th of 21, 25.27) and 400-meter dash (ninth of 21, 54.49) at the Osprey Twilight Meet (April 30)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 9), finished 18th of 28 at 800 meters with his best time of the season (2:09.22).

Indoor Track 2019-20: Competed in eight meets in eight different events, setting a PR in five of them…At the Fastrack Season Opener (Dec. 6), finished 21st of 55 athletes with a PR of 52.05 in the 400-meter dash, while also helping the 4x800 team finish fifth of seven (8:56.48)…Had a PR of 1:27.11 in the 600-meter dash (10th of 28) and finished 10th of 12 with the sprint medley team (4:00.66) at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 13)…Ran the mile at the Dutchmen Invitational (Jan. 17), setting a PR of 5:39.23 while placing 12th of 14…Finished eighth of 52 athletes at 800 meters (2:04.60) at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 25)…Was 23rd of 64 athletes at 400 meters (54.41) and helped the 4x800 team finish fifth of 13 squads (8:35.37) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8)…Finished 14th of 44 at 800 meters (2:05.05) and third of 16 with the 4x400 team (3:36.62) at the Susquehanna Invitational (Feb. 15)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 24), finished 12th of 24 at 800 meters (2:04.32) and seventh of nine with the 4x800 relay team (8:40.15)…Posted a pair of PR times in relays at the ECAC Championships (March 6-7), finishing fourth of six in the 4x200 (1:37.70) on the opening day of the event and placing second of five in the 4x800 (8:23.44) the next day.

Cross Country 2019: Ran in a pair a pair of 5K races and also the 8K NCAA Division III Atlantic Regionals…Finished seventh on the team and 97th of 107 overall at the season-opening Bryn Mawr Invitational (Aug. 30), posting a 5K time of 24:52.86…Set his 5K PR of 21:36.74 while finishing fourth on the team and 20th of 29 overall at the Nick Russo Halloween run (Nov. 10)…Set his 8K PR (34:59.5) at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 16), finishing seventh on the Scarlet Raptors and 292nd of 300 overall.

Outdoor Track 2019: Competed in nine spring meets in a variety of events, including the 200, 400, 800 and 1,500 meters and with the 4x400 team…Notched a pair of PRs at the Oscar Moore Open (April 5), finishing 16th of 18 in the 200-meter dash (24.78) and 29th of 31 at 1,500 meters (4:51.58)…Set a PR of 51.70 in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 4), qualifying for the finals by placing eighth of 27…On the second day of the NJAC Championships (May 5), finished eighth of eight in the 400-meter finals (1:00.35), 14th of 36 at 800 meters (2:03.79) and fifth of eight with the 4x400 team (3:31.86)…Competed with the 4x400 team (sixth of nine, 3:29.72) and in the 400-meter dash (10th of 11, 51.75) at the ECAC Championships (May 15-16).

Indoor Track 2018-19: Earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honors with the Scarlet Raptors’ 4x400 team, which finished second of 10 teams at the NJAC Championship (Feb. 18) with a time of 3:28.73…Also competed at 800 meters (2:04.52), finishing 14th of 19 at the NJAC meet…Overall, competed in seven meets during the winter, including the ECAC Championships (March 2), where he helped the 4x400 team finish fifth of 11 teams in a time of 3:29.08…Posted a PR of 1:27.80 in the 600-meter dash at the season-opening TCNJ Open (Dec. 1), finishing 13th of 24…Ran in the 1,600-meter sprint medley at the Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 7), which finished third of nine teams with a program-record 3:42.16 clocking…Notched his PR of 55.22 in the 400-meter dash at the Moravian Invitational (Jan. 26), finishing 28th of 39…At the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 2), placed 26th of 53 at 800 meters (2:08.88) and sixth of 11 with the 4x400 team (3:39.79)…Had a PR of 27.71 in the 200-meter dash, finishing 10th of 13 at the Albright Invitational (Feb. 9), while adding a time of 1:03.64 at 400 meters (ninth of 10).

Cross Country 2018: Ran at two cross country invitationals during the fall season…Finished seventh on the Raptors and 98th of 112 at the Osprey Open (Sept. 22) in a time of 37:08.58…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 27), placed seventh on the team and 97th of 110 overall with an 8K PR time of 36:11.92.

Outdoor Track 2018: Qualified for the ECAC Div. III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in three events: the 800-meter run and with the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams…Competed in eight events, mainly at 800 meters…Opened the season at the Delaware Classic (March 24), finishing 25th of 27 in his lone competition at 1,500 meters (5:17.53) and fifth of eight with the 4x400 team (3:38.40)…Finished sixth at 800 meters in back-to-back competitions, posting a 2:01.83 time at the Stockton Invitational (March 31 in a 29-man field) and a 2:02.34 clocking at the Oscar Moore Open (April 6 in a 20-man field)…Helped the 4x800 team finish sixth of nine (8:29.67) at the Osprey Open (April 13) and added a seventh-place finish out of 60 athletes in the 800-meter run (2:00.57) the next day at the same meet…Finished 29th of 111 at 800 meters (1:59.73) at the Widener Invitational (April 21)…Posted a pair of PR marks at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing eighth of 28 at 800 meters (1:57.50) and fifth of eight with the 4x400 team (3:24.70)…Helped the 4x400 team place ninth of 10 with a 3:29.82 clocking at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier (May 14)…During his busy meet at the ECAC Championships (May 16-17), finished fifth of six in the 4x400 (3:26.28) on the first day and followed it up on Day Two placing 10th of 12 at 800 meters (2:00.42) and 12th of 12 in the 4x800 (8:53.15).

Indoor Track 2017-18: Competed in first meets in six different events (three individual and three relay)…Made Rutgers-Camden athletic debut at the TCNJ Winter Opener (Dec. 2), setting a since-broken program record at 600 meters (1:30.58 while finishing 17th of 29) and notching his old PR in the sprint medley (3:50.35, finishing fifth of seven)…Had PR times at 500 meters (1:12.76, 28th of 43) and with the 4x800 (8:54.37, seventh of seven) at the Fast Times Before Finals meet (Dec. 9)…Ran his first 800-meter race (2:02.69, 29th of 55) and set his former PR with the 4x400 team (eighth of 10 with a 3:35.07 clocking) at the Gotham Cup (Jan. 19)…Finished 10th of 42 at 800 meters (2:04.47) and fifth of 12 in the 4x400 (3:39.05) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 3)…Placed 10th of 18 at 800 meters with a PR of 2:01.65 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 19).
