One of the all-time great volleyball players at Rutgers-Camden, Olivia Rowland also has had a stellar career during spring semesters with the Scarlet Raptors’ crew program. Rowland, who has been named the team MVP and earned all-conference honors for both sports, returns for her final semester with the crew team after completing her collegiate volleyball career last fall.
Rowland set the Rutgers-Camden volleyball program’s career records for matches played (121), sets played (441), total blocks (388) and hitting percentage (.268). She finished second in all-time kills (879), fourth in blocks per set (0.88) and seventh in kills per set (1.99).
Her accomplishments are all over the single-season volleyball record lists. She is tied for the record and for sixth place on the list for matches played with 33 in 2013 and 32 in 2012, respectively. Her 124 sets played in 2013 are tied for the program mark, while her 118 in 2012 is tied for sixth. Her 249 kills in 2012 rank sixth on the single-season charts and she owns four of the top seven single-season block totals, including the second-highest mark of 118, set in 2014. She owns the fifth- and sixth-highest marks of blocks per set (1.08 in 2014 and 1.03 in 2015) and her .347 hitting percentage in 2015 is the second-highest total ever. She also has the fourth-highest (.329 in 2012) and sixth-highest (.250 in 2014) single-season hitting percentages.
An outstanding student as well, the Biology major with a Spanish minor has earned numerous academic honors.
