Biography

Alexa McNee capped her stellar four-year Rutgers-Camden career with her best season as a Scarlet Raptor in 2024. A standout center fielder, she started all 42 Rutgers-Camden games on the way to earning a berth on the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team.
 
McNee started all 126 games that Rutgers-Camden played during her career, playing left field during her first two seasons and center field as a junior and senior. She finished her career with 26 sacrifices, second on the program’s all-time list.

Softball 2024: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Team co-captain…Started all 42 Raptor games in center field…Hit .250 with 12 runs and nine RBIs…Added one double and her first career home run…Went 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts…Tied for the team lead with 10 sacrifices and with her one home run…Tied for second on the team with eight multiple-hit games…Had a five-game hitting streak (April 16-20) in which she hit 9-for-17 (.529), including a 5-for-7 doubleheader against Stockton (April 16)…After going hitless in the season opener against Carroll (March 9), went 8-for-12 (.667) over her next three games, including a 4-for-5 game with one run and one RBI against the Wentworth Institute of Technology (March 9) and a combined 4-for-7 against Washington College and Plymouth State (March 10)… Played in her 100th career game in the nightcap of a doubleheader against SUNY-New Paltz (March 22), going 1-for-4 with three putouts…Collected two sacrifices apiece against Alvernia (Game Two, March 19) and Ramapo (Game One, April 7)… Ripped a two-run home run in the fourth inning against William Paterson (Game One, April 20) for her lone career homer…Went 2-for-5 with one run, one RBI and a season high of six putouts against Neumann (Game Two, April 25).
 
Softball 2023: Started all 34 Rutgers-Camden games in center field…Led the team with 11 sacrifices, the second-highest single-season total in program history…Hit .242 with 12 runs (tied for second on the team), six RBIs and one double…Added five walks for a .286 on-base percentage and went 4-for-5 on stolen base attempts…Defensively, had 42 putouts, six assists, one double play and two errors for a .960 fielding percentage…Finished fourth on the team with five multiple-hit games, including a 4-for-6, four-run doubleheader against New Jersey City University (April 1) in which she went 2-for-3 in both games and scored three runs in the nightcap…Finished third on the team with two multiple-RBI games…Had a four-game hitting streak (April 1-4), going 6-for-13 (.462) in doubleheaders against New Jersey City and Rowan…In addition to her two-hit games in the NJCU doubleheader, she also had two hits in games against Wentworth (March 11), Gwynedd Mercy (March 20, Game Two) and Montclair State (April 11, Game One)…Had two RBIs in games against Nichols (March 16) and Rutgers-Newark (April 22, Game Oe)…Collected two sacrifices in the opener of the Gwynedd Mercy doubleheader (March 20) and the Montclair State opener (April 11), when she also went 2-for-2 with an RBI…Had her season high of three putouts on five occasions.
 
Softball 2022: Was the starting left fielder in all 27 Rutgers-Camden games…Had a slash line of .215/.262/.301…Second on the team with 12 runs scored…Had three doubles and four RBIs…Had seven walks, one HBP and went 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts…Finished fourth on the team with five sacrifices…Collected 32 putouts and one assist…Had two multiple-hit games, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI against Ramapo (April 16, Game 1) and 2-for-2 with one RBI and one sacrifice against Stockton (April 26, Game 1)…Had two sacrifices in the opener of an April 12 doubleheader at Montclair State…In the nightcap of that doubleheader, went 1-for-3 with one run and one sacrifice…Her first collegiate hit was a double against SUNY-New Paltz in the season opener March 4…Went 2-for-7 with two runs, one double, one walk and one stolen base in a doubleheader against New Jersey City (April 2)…In an April 28 doubleheader at Rutgers-Newark, went 2-for-4 with one double, two walks, one HBP and three runs scored…Had three putouts in one game on four occasions…Collected an assist against St. Norbert (March 14), throwing out a runner at home in the top of the sixth inning of an eventual 8-6 Scarlet Raptor win.
 
Softball 2021: Started all 23 of her games, including 15 in left field and eight in right field…Didn’t make a plate appearance, but picked up 33 putouts…Made her collegiate debut in the season opener at Kean University (March 23), starting in right field…Collected her first putout in that game…After starting eight games in right field, made her first start in left field on April 13 against The College of New Jersey (Game One)…Notched her season high of five putouts against Rowan (April 27, Game Two).
 
High School: Earned three varsity softball letters at Cherokee High School for Coach Mary Madgey…Business Honors Society…Graduated in 2020.

Personal: Born November 27, 2001…Nicknamed “Lex”…Loves spending time with her family and being at the beach. “Softball is the biggest hobby in my life and I’ve been playing it for 15 years. In my free time I love listening to music and watching movies.”… Member of the Rutgers-Camden Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…Marketing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to get a job in marketing and travel the world to do her job…Hopes to eventually open her own makeup business and possibly coach her own softball team…Alexa is the daughter of Laura and Rich McNee of Marlton.
