Biography

Alexis Davis once again anchored the Scarlet Raptors’ defense from her catching position, while producing some of the biggest hits of the season for the Scarlet Raptors. In the classroom, she continued her outstanding career and earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic First Team honors.
 
Davis has played in 53 career games at Rutgers-Camden, starting 51 and compiling a .983 fielding percentage, the eighth-highest mark for all players with the NCAA minimum of 200 total chances. She also ranks 14th on the program’s career charts with 262 putouts.
 
A transfer who played her freshman season at conference rival William Paterson University, Davis has played in 84 games overall, starting 81, during her collegiate career.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic First Team for the 2020-21 scholastic year…NJAC Academic Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List student for the 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring, 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters…One of only 16 athletes on the 148-member 2019 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Softball 2021: Played in 18 games, starting 16 at catcher…Hit .225 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored…Added three walks, one HBP and two sacrifices…Finished second on the team with 80 putouts…Added eight assists, including two in the second game of a doubleheader against William Paterson (April 24)…Lined a two-run pinch-hit single in the bottom of the sixth inning against Montclair State (April 10, Game Two), tying the game at 2-2 in an eventual 4-2 Raptor loss…Hit a game-winning RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap the Raptors’ 2-1 win over New Jersey City (May 4) in the NJAC playoffs…Went 2-for-2 with a double in the opener of a doubleheader at Kean (April 17)…Had a four-game hitting streak April 27-May 4 (4-for-11, .364 with one double and two RBIs…Collected nine putouts on three occasions, including her two-assist game against William Paterson when she had her season high of 11 total chances.
 
Softball 2020: Was the Scarlet Raptors’ starting catcher in all four games during the shortened 2020 season…Had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with one assist and a team-high 32 putouts…Caught a pair of shutouts by pitcher Sarah Byrnes…Hit .222 (2-for-9), but made those hits count, leading the team with five RBIs…Added one double, one walk, two sacrifices (second on the team) and one sacrifice fly (tying for the club lead)…Led the team with two multi-RBI games…After going 0-for-5 in a season-opening doubleheader split with SUNY-New Paltz (March 8), had a big doubleheader in a sweep of Gwynedd Mercy (March 10)…In the opener, went 1-for-2 with one run, one stolen base and two RBIs as the Raptors posted a 4-0 win…Her second-inning sacrifice fly drove home the first run of the game and she added a RBI single in the fourth to make it a 3-0 game…In the nightcap, went 1-for-2 with a double, one run and three RBIs, while adding a walk and a sacrifice in an 11-5 win…After Gwynedd Mercy had cut the Raptors’ lead to 6-5 with three runs in the top of the fourth inning, Davis broke open the game in the bottom of the frame with a bases-clearing double…Had 11 putouts in the first game against New Paltz and 18 for that doubleheader…Collected 14 putouts in the doubleheader against Gwynedd Mercy, including eight in the opener…Notched her one assist in the third inning of the nightcap, throwing out a runner trying to steal third base.
 
Softball 2019: Played in 31 of Rutgers-Camden’s 32 games, starting as the catcher in all 31 contests…Led the team with 91 at bats and tied for the team lead with eight sacrifices…Topped all regulars with a .994 fielding percentage, making only one error in 164 total chances…Finished second on the team in total chances and in putouts (150)…Hit .143 with five runs scored, two doubles and four RBIs…Added eight walks and went 2-for-3 on stolen base attempts…Had the team’s longest hitting streak of the season, opening the year by hitting in seven straight games (7-for-20, .350)…Went 2-for-3 with one double, one RBI and one sacrifice in the second game of a doubleheader against Montclair State (April 6)…In the opener of that twinbill, had her season high of 11 putouts, while adding one assist in 12 total chances…Had the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning, helping the Raptors rally from a 7-2 deficit for a 9-8 win against Catholic University (April 17, Game Two)...Collected two assists in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Moravian College (April 4).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played in 31 games, starting 30, at William Paterson University…Hit .188 (6-for-32) with two doubles, seven runs scored and three RBIs…Had four walks and one HBP to record a .280 on-base percentage…Had a .250 slugging percentage…Added one sacrifice fly and one sacrifice…Was successful in her only stolen base attempt…Defensively, led the Pioneers with 106 putouts and added 14 assists…Compiled a .984 fielding percentage (two errors in 122 chances)...Went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI in the second game of a doubleheader at Kean University (April 14).
 
High School: Earned four varsity letters in both softball and basketball at Riverside High School…Captured All-Conference First Team, All-County Second Team and All-Group One accolades during her senior softball season…Hit .522 with 36 runs, 24 RBIs, six doubles and five triples that season…Hit .422 with 31 runs, 17 RBIs, nine doubles and three triples as a junior on the way to earning All-Group 1 and All-Conference First Team…Earned All-Conference Second Team honors as a sophomore…Captured All-Conference First Team and Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman after hitting .435…Compiled 127 hits in her scholastic career…Was an All-Conference Second Team performer during her scholastic basketball career…Distinguished Honor Roll student for all four years…Graduated in 2017.
