Biography

One of the most involved student-athletes at Rutgers University-Camden since her transfer from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Allie Jenkins is entering her third year with the Scarlet Raptors’ softball program. A standout in the classroom as well, she is a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where she is serving as the 2018-19 Co-Chair. She has been honored three times as a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and added a berth on the inaugural ECAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2018 Spring semester.
 
In 42 games at Rutgers-Camden, she owns a .280 career batting average. Coupled with her freshman season playing for Saint Elizabeth, Jenkins has 74 hits and a .354 career average in 78 games.
 
Academics: ECAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2018 Spring semester…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2016 Fall, 2018 Spring and 2018 Fall semesters…Three-year member of Rutgers-Camden’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where she served as the Co-Vice Chair for the 2017-18 scholastic year and is the Co-Chair for the 2018-19 scholastic year.
 
Softball 2018: Played in 10 games, making one start as the team’s designated player…Went 4-for-12 (.333) with one walk and a .385 on-base percentage…Made the most of her four hits, collecting three RBIs…Ripped a two-out, RBI pinch-hit single in the second game of a doubleheader against Montclair State University (April 21)…Capped a seven-run, game-winning rally in the sixth inning of the opening game against William Paterson University (April 24) with a two-run pinch-hit single…Made her lone start in the opener of a doubleheader at Kean University (April 28) and went 2-for-3.
 
Softball 2017: Played in 32 games, starting 26 (24 in right field and two as the designated player)…Hit .273 with four doubles…Finished second on the team in both runs scored (13) and triples (two)…Added eight RBIs…Had a .364 slugging percentage and a .304 on-base percentage…Had four walks and one sacrifice…Defensively, collected 23 putouts and one assist, while making one error for a .960 fielding percentage…Tied for second on the team with six multiple-hit games and added two multiple-RBI games…Had four three-game hitting streaks during the season, from March 11-14 (4-for-8, .500, five RBIs, two runs), March 15-17 (6-for-13, .462, four runs, one RBI), April 8-13 (5-for-10, .500, two runs, one RBI) and April 18-23 (4-for-11, two runs)…After playing three games as a pinch-hitter, got her first Rutgers-Camden start in right field against Alfred State (March 11), going 2-for-3 with one run and three RBIs…Her first Raptor hit was a two-run single in the second inning of that game and she also scored a run in that frame, contributing to the team’s record-setting 13-run inning…Had a two-run pinch-hit triple and scored a run in the second inning of a win over Johnson State, also on March 11…Went 2-for-4 with one RBI against Lycoming College (March 15)…Went 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored against Bay Path University (March 17)…In a doubleheader against Stockton University (April 13), went a combined 4-for-7, with two runs, one walk, one RBI and one double, getting a pair of hits in each game…Had a 2-for-3 game with one run against Rowan University (April 18, Game Two), when she also added her season high of four putouts…Went 1-for-4 with a double and one run against Montclair State (April 23, Game One), while earning her one outfield assist in the sixth inning, starting a relay that cut down a runner at the plate to end the frame…Advanced 21 runners in 48 opportunities (.438)…Hit .353 (6-for-17) leading off an inning…Hit .279 (24-for-86) against right-handed pitching.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played one season at the College of Saint Elizabeth in 2016…Started all 36 games for the Eagles and led the club in hitting (.422, 46-for-109), doubles (11), triples (7), RBIs (33), total bases (74), slugging percentage (.679) and on-base percentage (.458), while tying for the lead with two HBP…Added one home run, four sacrifices, one sacrifice fly and six walks…On the mound, was one of the Eagles’ three main pitchers, working 66 innings over 16 games (10 starts), posting a 5-6 record, a 5.52 ERA and notching the team’s lone save…Walked 32, struck out 25 and had six complete games…Had her season high of eight strikeouts in a complete-game 10-5 win over Brooklyn College (April 16)…Went 4-for-4 against both Rosemont (March 22, Game Two) and Lancaster Bible (April 18, Game One)…The Lancaster Bible game kicked off a season-ending 11-game hitting streak (18-for-33, .545)…Collected 12 multiple-hit games...Named to the All-North Eastern Athletic Conference South Division First Team…Named the NEAC Softball Player of the Week on March 28 after leading Saint Elizabeth to a sweep over Rosemont in its lone doubleheader of the week…Went 5-for-7 with six runs scored, four RBIs, a double, a triple, a walk and a stolen base in that twinbill, while also pitching the final three innings of the opener and collecting a save in a 10-7 victory.
 
High School: Earned four softball letters at Riverside High School for Coach Crystal Barbour…Added three field hockey varsity letters…First Team All-Conference her last three seasons and First Team All-County as a junior and a senior.
 
Personal: Born October 27, 1996…Enjoys working on cars with her dad and going to the beach…Alexandra “Allie” Jenkins…Member of Rutgers-Camden’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…Childhood Studies major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to become a teacher…Allie is the daughter of Phil and Athena Jenkins of Delanco.
