Ashley Croge returns for her third season with the Rutgers-Camden softball program, where she owns a .250 career batting average in 38 games (16 starts). She also has earned numerous academic honors during her collegiate career.

Softball 2018: Played in 11 games, starting five (four at catcher and one as the designated player)…Hit .211 (4-for-19) with two runs, one RBI and two walks…Also was hit by a pitch twice, compiling a .348 on-base percentage…Collected two sacrifices…Was successful on her lone stolen base attempt…Went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base against Sarah Lawrence (March 11), while adding three putouts in as many chances…Went 1-for-4 against Bay Path (March 13), adding eight putouts and one assist…Went 0-for-1 with two HBP and two runs scored against Alfred State (March 16)…Had a 1-for-2 game with a walk and a sacrifice against New Jersey City University (March 31, Game Two), while handling seven fielding chances flawlessly (five putouts, two assists).
Softball 2017: Played in 27 games, starting 11 (six at catcher, four as the designated player and one at first base)…Hit .268 with two runs, two doubles and eight RBIs…Had six walks and eight strikeouts…Posted a .317 slugging percentage and a .362 on-base percentage…Had 22 putouts, two assists and two errors for a .923 fielding percentage…Notched three multiple-hit games, including a 3-for-4 performance with one RBI in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Stockton University (April 13)…Went 5-for-7 with two RBIs overall in that doubleheader (2-for-3 with one RBI in the opener), which was the start of her season-high three-game hitting streak (April 13-15) in which she went 6-for-11 (545) with one walk and two RBIs…Made her collegiate debut as a pinch-hitter, going 0-for-1, against Fredonia (March 3)…Had her first start on March 4 against Shenandoah, catching, and notching her first two collegiate putouts while going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI…In that game, had a second-inning single to center field to notch her first collegiate hit and later scored a run, while she had her first RBI on a fourth-inning ground out…Went 2-for-2 with one run and four RBIs in a 13-5 win over Bay Path University (March 17), collecting a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning and a RBI single in the seventh…Was the starting catcher and had her season high of eight putouts against Franciscan (March 17)…Hit .296 (8-for-27) with runners on base, .500 (1-for-2) with the bases loaded and .273 (6-for-22) with runners in scoring position…Advanced 19 runners in 33 opportunities (.576).
High School: Earned six varsity letters between softball and volleyball at Sterling High School, graduating in 2016…First Team All-Conference catcher for softball Coach Kelly Tallant.
Personal: Born April 26, 1998…Nicknamed “Moose”…Enjoys softball, listening to music and making people laugh…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden…Post-graduation plans include continuing her nursing education and working in the ER…Hopes to eventually coach her own softball team...Ashley is the daughter of Diane and Tony Croge of Somerdale.
