Biography

Ava Maloof has played in 50 games during her two seasons with the Scarlet Raptors’ softball program, starting 34 games, including 24 in right field. She also has added academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and a Dean’s List student for the 2024 Fall semester.
 
Softball 2024: Appeared in 30 games, starting 26 (22 in right field and four in left field)…Hit .208 (15-for-72) and tied for the team lead with one triple and one home run…Finished second on the club with 16 runs scored…Added three doubles and eight RBIs…Reached base nine times on walks and once as a hit batsman to post a .305 on-base percentage…Had five sacrifices…Went 4-for-5 on stolen base attempts…Defensively, notched 32 putouts and two assists, including one for a double play…Had five multiple-hit games…Opened the season going 2-for-4 with one run, one RBI, a triple and one sacrifice against Carroll University (March 9)…Went 3-for-4 with one RBI against Washington College (March 10)…Went 1-for-4 with two runs, one RBI, one walk and two stolen bases later that day against Plymouth State…Hit her first career home run, while going 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI and adding one sacrifice against Fredonia (March 14)…Went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and one RBI against St. Norbert (March 15)…Had a 3-for-4 day with four runs, two RBIs, three walks and a double in a doubleheader against Albright (March 21), including 2-for-2 in the nightcap…Threw out the potential tying run in the sixth inning of a 3-2 Raptor win over Gwynedd Mercy (Game One, March 26), for an inning-ending double play…Notched her season high of four putouts in the second game of a Ramapo doubleheader (April 7).
 
Softball 2023: Appeared in 20 games, starting eight (six as the designated player and two in right field)…Saw most of her action as a pinch runner…Hit .095 (2-for-21) with three runs, three walks and one RBI…Went 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts…Had a .208 on-base percentage…Collected her lone putout against Gwynedd Mercy (March 20, Game Two) to finish her season with a 1.000 fielding percentage…Made her collegiate debut as the starting right fielder in the Raptors’ season opener against SUNY-New Paltz (Feb. 23), going 0-for-3…As the starting designated player against Nichols (March 16), went 1-for-3 with a walk, stolen base and a run, collecting her first collegiate hit with a fourth-inning single to right field…Collected her first collegiate RBI with a second-inning ground out against Hamilton (March 17)…Started as the designated player in the opener of a March 20 doubleheader against Gwynedd Mercy, going 1-for-3…In a doubleheader against New Jersey City (April 1), appeared as a pinch runner in both games, scoring a run in the opener and stealing a base in the nightcap.
