Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Liani Ortiz joined the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff in 2023 and returns for her third season this spring.
 
A former collegiate star at Stockton University from 2018-21, Ortiz was named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team in 2019. That season she hit her first career home run against NJAC rival William Paterson, had a 13-game streak reaching base, hit .365 and tied for fifth in the NJAC with three home runs.
 
During her senior season in 2021, Ortiz started all 28 Stockton games, recording six multi-hit games and tying for sixth in the NJAC in defensive double plays (4) and seventh in assists (50). She also captured NJAC Academic Honorable Mention.
 
Over her Stockton career, Ortiz played in 86 games, starting 64, and hitting .272. She graduated from Stockton in 2021 with a Bachelors degree in Business.
 
Ortiz was a four-year softball letterwinner at Cherokee High School.
