Assistant Coach          Mike Schlichtig (3rd season)
 
The father of Rutgers-Camden Head Softball Coach Michelle Schlichtig, Mike Schlichtig has spent the past 25-plus years developing an intricate and thorough knowledge of Fastpitch Softball at various levels of competition, including developmental and recreational softball, travel softball, high school varsity softball and college softball.
 
During that time, Schlichtig has held assistant coaching positions on five ASA State Championship teams, two NSA State Championship teams, one USSSA World Championship team and one NJSIAA State Championship team. 
 
A member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), he is a retired police captain with the Camden Police Department, having proudly served the City of Camden for 26-1/2 years. He retired in December, 1999. 
 
In his first season on the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff in 2015, the Scarlet Raptors posted a 21-13-1 record, their best mark since going 31-15 in 2007. They reached the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs that season and repeated with a conference playoff berth last year, when they went 21-19.
