Biography

Kendra Pfister transferred to Rutgers-Camden after spending her freshman year at Georgia Perimeter College. Entering her final season with the Scarlet Raptors, she has played a big role in the Scarlet Raptors’ success over her two seasons on campus, compiling a .275 batting average in 52 games, while notching nine wins and 12 complete games in her 25 starts on the mound. She also has earned three berths on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Softball 2018: Appeared in 24 games overall, starting 21…On the mound, started 18 of her 21 appearances…Compiled eight complete games and one save in a team-high 107-1/3 innings…Posted a 5-13 record with a 4.96 ERA…Walked 62, hit 12 and struck out 53…Offensively, hit .302 (16-for-53) with five runs, eight RBIs, one sacrifice and four walks…Had a .351 on-base percentage…Went 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts…Had 11 putouts and 12 assists, while making one error for a .958 fielding percentage…Had a four-game hitting streak from April 21-24 in a pair of NJAC doubleheaders, going 6-for-13 (.462) with five RBIs and one run scored…Against Montclair State (April 21), went 1-for-3 with one RBI in the opening game of a doubleheader and 2-for-3 with one RBI in the nightcap…In a twinbill against William Paterson (April 24), was 2-for-4 with one run and two RBIs in the first game and 1-for-3 with one RBI and one stolen base in the second game…Also went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs and one stolen base against Lycoming College (March 14)…On the mound, she pitched in every game during a rare tripleheader March 13, in which the Scarlet Raptors faced Keystone, Bay Path and Shaw on their southern trip due to rainouts earlier in the week…After working three innings against Keystone (two hits, one unearned run, two walks, four strikeouts) to earn a save, earned her first win in an 8-1 victory against Bay Path College, working six innings of six-hit ball, allowing one walk and one earned run while striking out seven…Capped her day picking up the win in a 7-5 decision against Shaw, working three innings (two hits, three runs, two earned runs, one walk, one strikeout)…Suffered a tough 2-1 loss against Gettysburg (March 14), despite a complete-game five-hitter, allowing two runs (only one earned), five walks and five strikeouts…Bounced back in the day’s second game to beat Lycoming College in relief, working four innings (three hits, one earned run, two walks, two strikeouts) in a 9-8 Rutgers-Camden win…Hurled a seven-hit complete game to beat New Jersey City University (March 31), 4-3, allowing three earned runs and two walks, while striking out five…Suffered another tough loss, coming in a 4-1 game against Rutgers-Newark (April 14), despite allowing only three unearned runs in six innings of five-hit ball, while issuing three walks and striking out two…Earned her fifth win in a 10-7 decision against William Paterson (April 24), scattering 12 hits and two walks, while striking out two and allowing seven runs (five earned)…Was the losing pitcher in a 1-0 decision against Ramapo College (April 26), despite working six innings of seven-hit ball, allowing one earned run and two walks, while fanning two…Lost another low-scoring game in a 3-1 defeat at Kean university (April 28), working six innings of six-hit ball, walking four and allowing three runs (only two earned)…As the Raptors’ ace, worked both ends of NJAC doubleheaders three times in the last five days of the season, totaling 31-2/3 innings in that span.
 
Softball 2017:  Appeared in 28 games, starting 20 (12 at first base, seven as the pitcher and two as the designated player)…Hit .222 with four runs, two RBIs and four walks…Successful on her lone stolen base attempt…Posted a .323 on-base percentage…Fifth on the team with 70 putouts, while adding 12 assists and four double plays…Made only two errors for a .976 fielding percentage, the third-highest mark on the team…On the mound appeared in 14 games, starting seven and working 50-1/3 innings (second on the team)…Posted a 4-4 record, a 3.62 ERA, four complete games and one shutout…Walked 19, hit three batters and struck out 38…Allowed 63 hits and 37 runs, only 26 of them earned…Made her Rutgers-Camden debut on March 3 as part of a split doubleheader against Fredonia and Randolph-Macon…Started at first base against Fredonia in a defensive role only, collecting eight putouts and one assist…Was the starting pitcher against Randolph-Macon, but didn’t record an out, allowing two hits, two walks, five runs (four earned) in the Raptors’ eventual 7-3 loss…Bounced back the next day (March 4) to beat Shenandoah, 9-4, with her first complete game, working seven innings of eight-hit ball, walking two, striking out two, allowing four runs (three earned) and going 1-for-3 at the plate with one walk…Also worked two shutout innings of relief against Case Western Reserve (March 4), allowing one hit and striking out one…In a win over Alfred State (March 11), had a pinch-hit RBI single in the third inning, scored a run and later walked and scored another run after being inserted into the lineup to play first base…Had an overpowering start in a five-inning, one-hit 15-0 shutout later that same day against Johnson State (March 11), facing the minimum 15 batters, with a two-out single in the first inning being retired on a caught stealing…Struck out seven batters in the game and also walked, stole a base and scored one run…Suffered a tough 3-1 loss against Sarah Lawrence College (March 15), working five innings of five-hit ball, allowing one walk, three runs (only one earned) and striking out five…Posted an 8-1 victory over Wisconsin-Stout (March 13) with an eight-hitter, allowing one earned run and four walks, while tying her season high of seven strikeouts…Hurled another complete game, this time a seven-hitter, in a 4-2 win over Franciscan (March 17), allowing one walk, striking out six and surrendering only two unearned runs…Allowed eight runs, but only three earned runs, and worked 4-2/3 innings in a 10-2 loss against Penn State-Abington (March 25), striking out five, walking two and surrendering eight hits…The game marked her last mound appearance until April 23…Started at first base, went 0-for-1 and registered her season high of nine putouts in the first game of a doubleheader at Catholic University (March 30)…Allowed only three earned runs in five innings at Montclair State University (April 23, Game Two), but was tagged with the loss in a 3-0 Raptor defeat…Worked 2-2/3 innings in a 5-1 loss against Kean University (April 29, Game Two), allowing four hits, four walks and four earned runs, while striking out one.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played at Georgia Perimeter College in 2015, helping the team win the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association championship and compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship Tournament…That season proved to be the Jaguars’ final year, as the school eliminated its athletic program and merged with Georgia State University.
 
High School: Four-year softball letterwinner for Coach Tracy Keefer at Dacula (Georgia) High School…Graduated in 2014…Named team MVP in 2012 and 2013…Gwinnett County All-Region Honorable Mention in 2012 and All-Region First Team in 2013 as a pitcher…Set Dacula High School’s program record for the lowest ERA in 2012…Named to the Gwinnett County Team of the Month in 2012…In 2013 was named MaxPreps Player of the Year and led her team to the state playoffs…Member of the Dacula High School Student Athlete Leadership Team in 2012.
 
Personal: Born February 16, 1996…Last name pronounced “Fist-er”…Hobbies and interests including makeup and cosmetics, spending time with family and friends, crafting, dancing, singing and concerts…Marketing major at Rutgers-Camden…Plans after graduation are to “get a well-paying job that will help me gain knowledge in the business field. I would like to go back to Georgia and spend time with my family before leaving for makeup school. My dream in life is to start my own business in the makeup industry”…Kendra is the daughter of Teena and Karl Pfister of Dacula, Georgia.
