Lauren Glaze has played a big role with the Rutgers-Camden softball team for three years, despite missing the entire 2017 season with an injury. That year her dedication to the program, showing up at every game to support her teammates, earned her the Billy Carty Memorial Award, which is given annually to the Most Dedicated Player on both the softball and baseball teams.
A senior academically who has retained her junior athletic eligibility, Glaze returned to the Scarlet Raptors’ active roster in 2018 and will see her third season of action on the softball diamond again this spring.
Glaze has appeared in 53 games with the Scarlet Raptors, including 36 during her rookie season in 2016, when she compiled a 1.000 fielding percentage.
A stellar student-athlete in the classroom, Glaze earned her first academic recognition during her freshman year when she was named to the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2016 semester. She added a berth on the AD Honor Roll during both semesters during her sophomore year (Fall 2016 and Spring 2017) and junior year (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018). She also is a two-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Softball 2018: Played in 17 games, starting 14 in right field…Hit .143 (2-for-14) with two runs scored, three walks and one stolen base in as many attempts…Had two sacrifices…Collected 14 putouts and three assists…Made her season debut in a doubleheader at Catholic University (March 29), being inserted as a pinch-runner in the opener before playing right field…In the nightcap, made her first start of the year, going 0-for-1 with two walks, one putout and scoring the Raptors’ lone run in a 2-1 loss…In the opener of a doubleheader against Rowan University (April 17), was hit by a pitch in her lone plate appearance and scored a third-inning run, while also adding two putouts in right field…Went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one putout in the first game of a doubleheader against William Paterson University (April 24).

Softball 2016: Played in 36 games, starting 18…Had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in left field, collecting 17 putouts in as many chances…Had a high of three putouts in the opener of a doubleheader against Arcadia University (April 21)…Hit .195 (8-for-41) with 11 runs, one double, one RBI, four walks and two HBP…Compiled a .298 on-base percentage…Reached base safely in five straight games from March 6-16, with three walks and a two-game hitting streak (March 14-15) that included a 2-for-3 game with a double and one run against Sarah Lawrence (March 15)…Her first collegiate hit came against Albertus Magnus (March 14), when she went 1-for-3 and started her first game, playing left field…Her first overall collegiate appearance came as a pinch-runner against Shenandoah University in the season opener March 5…Went 4-for-6 in stolen base attempts, with her first collegiate steal coming against Albright College (March 17)…Earlier that day, in a game against Bay Path University, went 2-for-2 with one run scored…Was inserted as a pinch-runner in the fourth inning of the second game against Penn State-Abington (March 24) and later collected an RBI single for her first collegiate RBI and scored a run in that seven-run frame.
High School: Captured 12 varsity letters at Collingswood High School, earning four apiece in soccer, basketball and softball…Played softball for Coaches Sara Smith and Richard Kulpa…Earned Colonial Conference Liberty Division Second Team honors in both softball and soccer as a junior during the 2013-14 scholastic year…Recognized on the All-Conference First Team for softball and soccer as a senior during the 2014-15 scholastic year…National Honor Society…Jersey Girls State Representative.
