Biography

Maggie Foss had a great start to her collegiate softball career last spring before her season ended prematurely with an injury.  Foss earned a pair of Rookie of the Week honors during the Scarlet Raptors’ season-opening southern trip to South Carolina. She also has been a standout in the classroom, earning Honor Roll recognition from the ECAC during the 2018 spring semester and adding a pair of berths on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
 
Academics: ECAC President’s Honor Roll for the 2018 Spring semester…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2018 Spring, 2018 Fall and 2020 Spring semesters.
 
Softball 2018: Played in 22 games, starting 18 before a season-ending injury…Made 10 starts in center field, seven in left field and one in right field…Hit .289 with three doubles, three triples, eight runs and five RBIs…Had a .489 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage, aided by eight walks and one HBP…Added one sacrifice fly and tied for the team lead with seven sacrifices…Stole five bases in six attempts…Had 11 putouts and two assists, while making one error for a .929 fielding percentage…Named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on March 12…Added ECAC Division III Metro Rookie of the Week honors the next day…Made her collegiate debut starting in right field in the season opener against St. Scholastica (March 11) and went 1-for-2 with a walk, one RBI and one assist…Later that day had one of the top games in program history, going 4-for-4 with two runs, a double, two triples an assist and one RBI against Sarah Lawrence…Her two triples tied a single-game program record and her nine total bases were one shy of the Rutgers-Camden single-game mark…Those two games were part of a season-opening four-game hitting streak for Foss from March 11-13 (7-for-12, .583)…Went 2-for-3 with a double, one run and one RBI (on a sacrifice fly) against Lycoming College (March 14)…Went 1-for-4 with one RBI and two stolen bases against Clarks Summit (March 15)…In a doubleheader against New Jersey City University (March 31), went 1-for-1 with one run and one sacrifice in each game, while adding one RBI. one walk and one stolen base in the opener and one triple and two walks in the nightcap.
 
High School: Captured Second Team All-Conference honors for Coach Tracy Burkhart at Washington Township High School…Honors Graduate with a 4.0 GPA all four years…Mayor’s Recognition Award winner…Graduated in 2017.
 
Personal: Born January 25, 1999…Played club softball for the Jersey Jaguars…Hobbies and interests include surfing, crossfit and drinking coffee…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to continue her nursing education, obtain her master’s degree and travel the world…Maggie is the daughter of George and Wendy Foss of Turnersville.
