Mariah Hans started all 36 games for the Scarlet Raptors during her first season at Rutgers-Camden, proving her versatility all over the diamond. A transfer from Philadelphia University, she finished second on the team in putouts (117) and third in assists (52), while her team-leading eight double plays tied for the third-highest single-season mark in program history.
During the Fall 2016 semester, Hans earned a berth on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. She added a berth on the Spring 2017 AD Honor Roll and during the Fall 2017 season she made that list again as one of only 10 athletes to register a perfect 4.0 GPA.
For her combined collegiate career at Rutgers-Camden and Philadelphia University, Hans is 64-for-257 (.241) with 12 doubles, 41 RBIs and 36 runs in 107 games (96 starts).
Softball 2017: One of only four players to start all 36 games on the Scarlet Raptors… Made 18 starts at second base, 10 at shortstop and eight at first base…Hit .226 with 12 runs (tied for third on the team), six RBIs and five doubles (fourth on the Raptors)…Finished second on the club with 13 walks, helping her compile a .321 on-base percentage…Went 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts…Second on the team with 117 putouts and third with 52 assists…Her team-leading eight double plays are tied for fourth on the program’s single-season charts and are only two shy of the Rutgers-Camden record, shared by two players…Had five multiple-hit games and notched a five-game hitting streak (March 3-11), going 7-for-17 (.412) with seven runs scored, four walks and four RBIs…Scored three runs in back-to-back games during that streak, coming against Alfred State and Johnson State, both on March 11…Had her first Raptor hit against Randolph-Macon (March 3), going 1-for-4 with one RBI, while starting at second base…Notched her first multiple-hit game against Shenandoah (March 4), going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI…Went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two walks, while scoring three runs in the Alfred State game (March 11)…In the Johnson State game that same day, went 1-for-2 with one RBI, two walks and three runs, while also collecting both of her stolen bases for the season…Drew a walk in five straight games (March 30-April 5) and in six of seven games from March 25-April 5…Started at first base and registered her season high of 10 putouts against Rutgers-Newark (April 15, Game One)…Added nine putouts and one assist while starting at first base against Kean University (April 29, Game Two)…Collected her season high of five assists against both Fredonia (March 3) and Catholic University (March 30, Game One), while starting at second base and shortstop, respectively.
Pre-Rutgers: Played two seasons of softball at Philadelphia University…As a freshman in 2015, appeared in 36 games, starting 29 and hitting .277 (23-for-83)…Scored 15 runs and drove home 17…Added two doubles, one triple, 11 walks, 36 total bases and a team-leading three home runs…Added 18 putouts and finished third on the team with 40 assists…Had a three-run home run, five RBIs and two runs during a 3-for-6 performance against Lincoln University (April 6, 2015)…During her sophomore season in 2016, started 31 of her 35 games, hitting .222 (18-for-81) with nine runs, eight RBIs and five doubles…Collected 40 putouts and finished third on the club with 53 assists.
