Biography

A standout on the softball diamond as well as in the classroom, first baseman Marissa Beebe had a fine career at Rutgers University after starting her collegiate career at Ursinus College. One of the Scarlet Raptors’ team leaders, she also earned numerous academic honors.
 
During her three seasons at Rutgers-Camden (with the 2020 year being limited to four games due to the pandemic), Beebe compiled a .287 batting average, a .366 slugging percentage and a .376 on-base percentage. She collected five doubles, one triple and two home runs, scored 22 runs and drove home 25. She reached base three times as a hit batsman and walked 21 times as a Scarlet Raptor, while starting all 59 of her games. She posted the third-highest fielding percentage (.986) in program history for all players with the NCAA minimum of 200 total chances. She also ranks 10th in career putouts (342), tied for 10th in double plays (10) and tied for 12th in sacrifices (11).
 
For her combined collegiate career at Ursinus and Rutgers-Camden, Beebe hit .270 with eight doubles, two triples and two home runs, while appearing in 93 games. She had 32 runs scored, 29 RBIs, a .343 slugging percentage and a .364 on-base percentage.

Softball 2021: Started all 23 Rutgers-Camden games, hitting .254 with one home run, seven runs and seven RBIs…Posted a .299 slugging percentage and a .301 on-base percentage…Was hit by two pitches, leading the team in HBP…Tied for the club lead with one sacrifice fly…Led the club defensively with 141 putouts and six double plays…Had a four-game hitting streak from April 3-6 (6-for15, .400), which included a 4-for-7 doubleheader against New Jersey City (April 3) with four runs scored…In the first game of that twinbill, had three RBIs, including a two-run home run in the first inning…Had four multiple-hit games, including two hits in both games of the doubleheader against NJCU…Also went 2-for-4 with one run against Montclair State (April 10, Game Two) and 2-for-3 against Stockton (April 20, Game Two)…Notched two double-digit games in putouts, both coming against Rutgers-Newark on May 1, with 12 putouts in the opening game and 10 in the nightcap…Also had nine putouts on three occasions.
 
Softball 2020: Finished second on the team in batting (.455, 5-for-11) while starting all four Raptor games in the virus-shortened season…Hit cleanup in one game and batted in the No. 5 spot in her other three contests…Finished second on the team in runs scored (3), walks (3), putouts (21) and on-base percentage (.571) and third in slugging (.545) and total bases (6)…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week (March 16) after closing her season with a big doubleheader against Gwynedd Mercy (March 10), going 2-for-3 with a double and one run in the opener and 2-for-2 with two runs, two walks, one stolen base and one RBI in the nightcap…Opened the season against SUNY-New Paltz (March 8), going 0-for-2 with a walk in the first game and 1-for-4 in the second game, which started her season-ending three-game hitting streak…Had 11 putouts in the New Paltz twinbill and 10 in the Gwynedd Mercy doubleheader, with a high of seven in the second game against New Paltz.
 
Softball 2019: Hit .291 while being one of only three Scarlet Raptors to start all 32 games last season…Led the team in doubles (4), home runs (1), total bases (34), slugging percentage (.395), on-base percentage (.402), putouts (180) and double plays (4), while tying for the team lead with eight sacrifices…Second on the team with 12 runs scored and 15 walks…Added nine RBIs and one triple…Produced a .984 fielding percentage…Third on the team with five multiple-hit games…Produced a pair of five-game hitting streaks during the season (March 18-22, 6-for-15, .400 and April 16-19, 6-for-17, .353)…Also had a four-game hitting streak (April 4-8, 5-for-11, .455)…Made her Rutgers-Camden debut March 17 against Tufts, going 2-for-4 with one run scored and five putouts…Went 2-for-3 with two runs, one RBI and a home run against McDaniel (March 22), which turned out to be the only home run Rutgers-Camden hit in 2019…Went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI against Moravian (April 4, Game Two)…Went 2-for-3 with one run, one RBI, two doubles and a walk against Stockton (April 16, Game Two)…Was 2-for-3 against Rutgers-Newark (April 28, Game One)…Notched her season high of 10 putouts against both Western New England (March 22) and Kean (April 13, Game One).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played at Ursinus College in 2017 and 2018…Played in 34 career games, hitting .238 (20-for-84) with a .340 on-base percentage…Had one triple and three doubles…Walked 12 times, scored 10 runs and added 12 RBIs…As a freshman, played in 30 games, going 19-for-77 (.247) with nine runs and 11 RBIs…Added 46 putouts, 20 assists and three errors for a .957 fielding percentage…Played in four games as a sophomore (1-for-7, .143).
 
High School: Basketball and softball letterwinner at Haddon Heights High School…Graduated in 2016.
