Biography

Despite an injury-riddled career during her three years at Rutgers-Camden, Meg Gray finished second on the program’s all-time list as a hit batsman (26), while also finishing 10th in sacrifices (18) and 13th in assists (164). 
 
A three-time team captain, Gray played in 75 games at Rutgers-Camden, starting all of them, after beginning her career at Stockton University. She compiled a .406 career on-base percentage at Rutgers-Camden.
 
The Scarlet Raptors’ shortstop also earned numerous academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 scholastic years…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2021 Fall, 2022 Spring, 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2023 Fall and 2024 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student during the 2022 Spring, 2022 Fall and 2023 Fall semesters.
 
Softball 2024: Served as a team co-captain…Appeared in 37 games, starting all of them at shortstop…Hit .207 with six RBIs, but led the team in runs (19), walks (14), HBP (a single-season program record of 15), on-base percentage (.414), stolen bases (five steals in five attempts) and assists (90)…Added 58 putouts…Had eight sacrifices…Had four multiple-hit games, getting two hits apiece in games against Carroll (March 9), Wesleyan (March 12) and in a split doubleheader against St. Norbert and Saint Joseph’s (March 15)…Scored three runs in the St. Norbert game…Went 0-for-1 with three walks, one RBI and three runs against Albright (Game One, March 21)…Went 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs, one RBI and three walks against Plymouth State (March 10)…Had her season high of nine total chances (six putouts, two assists and one error) against Rutgers-Newark (Game Two, April 27)…Had a season high of seven assists against SUNY New Paltz (Game One, Mar. 22).
 
Softball 2023: Missed most of the season recovering from an injury…Served as the team captain…Started all 11 of her games, including six at shortstop and five as the designated player…Compiled a slash line of .227/.227/.433…Had one run and one RBI…Walked four times and reached base a team-leading four times as a hit baseman…Collected 10 putouts, 16 assists and two double plays…Made her return from an injury during the second game of an April 11 doubleheader with Montclair State, serving as the designated player and going 0-for-2 with one run, one HPB and one stolen base…Went 3-for-4 with one RBI in the nightcap of a doubleheader against The College of New Jersey (April 18), when she started as the Raptors’ designated player before moving to shortstop for her first infield action of the season…Had three assists and three putouts at shortstop in that game and also had three assists and three putouts against Rutgers-Newark (April 22, Game Two)…Notched two putouts and a season-high four assists against Stockton (April 25, Game Two).
 
Softball 2022: Started all 27 Rutgers-Camden games…Served as a team tri-captain…Led the team with four doubles, seven HBP and 58 assists…Tied for first on the team with one sacrifice fly and by turning five double plays…Finished second on the team in walks (11) and third in RBIs (10), sacrifices (6) and stolen bases (six, in eight attempts)…Hit .219 with nine runs scored…Had a .281 slugging percentage and a .386 on-base percentage…Had 45 putouts…Went 2-for-2 with one run,, one RBI and two walks in the nightcap of a doubleheader at William Paterson (April 9), completing a day in which she was 3-for-6 with two runs, two RBIs, two walks, one double and one stolen base…Went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, one HBP and one RBI in the nightcap of a doubleheader at New Jersey City (April 2)/…Had a two-run first-inning single in an eventual 7-5 win over Stockton (April 26, Game 2), while adding two stolen bases, one walk and one HBP…Collected her high of four putouts on three occasions, coming against New Jersey City (April 2, Game 2), Montclair State (April 12, Game 2) and The College of New Jersey (April 24, Game 1)…Had her high of five assists in the first game of the April 2 NJCU doubleheader.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played three seasons at New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Stockton University.
 
High School: Softball letterwinner at Cherokee High School…Graduated in 2018.
