Biography
One of the top student-athletes in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Amy Maurer completed her stellar collegiate career as a three-time all-conference soccer player, while adding three all-conference academic honors among her numerous accomplishments in the classroom.
A two-time Rutgers-Camden team captain and one of the top centerbacks in the NJAC, Maurer appeared in all 72 games the Raptors played during her four-year career, tied for the 10th-highest total of appearances in program history. She started 65 of those games, including all 55 Raptor games over her final three seasons. Maurer collected 11 points (five goals and one assist) in her career while contributing to 22 shutouts.
A fine all-around athlete, she also played one season with the women’s basketball program.

Soccer 2024: Captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention for the third consecutive season…One of the Scarlet Raptors’ four team captains…One of only four players to start all 19 Rutgers-Camden games…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post six shutouts and a 1.26 goals-against average…In addition to the six shutouts, led a defense that held opponents to one goal on six other occasions…Took seven shots, three on goal…Had her season high of two shots during a 2-1 loss to Swarthmore (Sept. 4)…Was instrumental in the Raptors’ shutouts against Washington College (0-0, Sept. 11), King’s College (3-0, Sept. 15), Bryn Athyn (4-0, Sept. 18), Arcadia (2-0, Sept. 24), Ramapo (1-0, Sept. 27) and FDU-Florham (Oct. 9).
Soccer 2023: NJAC Honorable Mention for the second straight season…Team tri-captain…Started all 18 Rutgers-Camden games, helping the Raptors post seven shutouts and a 0.89 goals-against average…Tied for second on the team with four goals and placed fourth on the team with eight points…Tied for second on the team with two game-winning goals…Had 16 shots, with 11 on goal for a .688 percentage…Scored on two of her three penalty kick attempts…Defensively, helped Rutgers-Camden open the season with shutouts against Neumann (3-0, Sept. 1), King’s (3-0, Sept. 2) and Albright (0-0, Sept. 6) and stretch the season-opening shutout streak to 324:54 before Hartwick scored on a penalty kick (Sept. 9)…Rutgers-Camden rallied from a 1-0 deficit to win the Hartwick game, 3-1, with Maurer scoring her first game-winning goal on a penalty kick…Scored goals in consecutive NJAC games in a 2-1 loss to William Paterson (Sept. 22) and collected her second game-winning tally in a 1-0 win over Ramapo (Sept. 27)…Collected an insurance goal on a penalty kick in a 2-0 conference win over Kean (Oct. 7)…Had her high of four shots – all on goal – in the William Paterson game…Helped Rutgers-Camden hold national powers Montclair State and The College of New Jersey to one goal apiece in the Raptors’ 1-0 conference losses on Oct. 21 and Oct. 25, respectively.
Soccer 2022: NJAC Honorable Mention in her first season as a centerback…Started all 18 games for Rutgers-Camden, one of only three players to do so…Notched one goal and one assist for three points…Took 10 shots, eight on goal…Contributed to all four Raptor shutouts…Helped hold opponents to one goal on six other occasions…Took a season-high three shots (two on goal) and scored a goal during a 2-2 tie with Alvernia (Sept. 7)…Assisted on a goal by Maggie Horn in a 4-1 win at William Paterson (Sept. 24)…Helped the Raptors earn regular-season shutouts against Albright (1-0, Sept. 17), Ramapo (3-0, Sept. 28) and Kean (0-0, Oct. 8)…Helped team blank powerful Montclair State, 0-0, through double overtime in the NJAC semifinals (Nov. 2) before the Red Hawks advanced on penalty kicks.
Basketball 2021-22: Played in three games, starting two…Averaged 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds, while adding three assists and three steals…Shot 3-for-3 from the foul line…Made her debut against The College of New Jersey (Dec. 1), collecting two points, one rebound, one steal and one assist in 19 minutes of playing time…Had her first start against New Jersey City University (Dec. 4), playing 29 minutes and notching five points, six re bounds, two assists and one steal…Started and played 27 minutes against Rowan University (Dec. 8), scoring two points, grabbing three rebounds and adding one steal.
Soccer 2021: Played in all 17 games for the Scarlet Raptors, starting 10 and contributing to all of the team’s five shutouts…Took four shots, two on goal…Made her collegiate debut playing 55 minutes in the 1-0 season-opening win against Elizabethtown (Sept. 2)…Had her first start in a 1-0 overtime loss to Washington College (Sept. 11), playing 81 minutes…Played her season high of 105 minutes in a 0-0 double-overtime game against Kean University (Sept. 25)…Also played 103 minutes in a scoreless double-overtime tie against Ursinus College (Oct. 20)…Took three shots, two of them on goal, in a 1-0 win at Goucher College (Oct. 6).
