Biography

An All-New Jersey Athletic Conference player every season during her stellar career, centerback Breana Winder earned NJAC First Team honors as a junior and a senior. During her freshman season, she was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year and added NJAC Second Team honors, while she garnered NJAC Honorable Mention as a sophomore.
 
The anchor of a stellar Scarlet Raptor defense, Winder helped Rutgers-Camden reach the NJAC playoffs every season during her career. Prior to her arrival, Rutgers-Camden hadn’t played in the conference playoffs since 2007.
 
Winder’s play during her junior season helped the Scarlet Raptors earn the first No. 1 seed for the NJAC playoffs in program history. That team posted five consecutive shutouts, marking the first time the team had ever blanked five straight NJAC opponents.
 
For her career, Winder started 59 of her 60 games, helping the team post 18 shutouts. A three-time team captain, she added three goals (two game winners) and one assist for seven points.
 
Winder also earned numerous academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.

Soccer 2021: New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team…Named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 11…Started all 17 games for the Scarlet Raptors…Anchored a defense that posted five shutouts and a 1.07 goals-against average…Took five shots, two on goal…Played every minute in 14 of her games, including all 110 in a 0-0 tie against Ursinus College (Oct. 20)…In addition to that game, helped the team post shutouts against Elizabethtown (1-0, Sept. 2), Kean (0-0, Sept. 25), Goucher (1-0, Oct. 6) and New Jersey City (3-0, Oct. 16)…Helped to hold the nation’s top-ranked team to one goal in a 1-0 loss against The College of New Jersey (Oct. 13)…Kept the nation’s fifth-ranked team scoreless until late in the game in an eventual 2-0 loss at Messiah University (Sept. 21).
 
Soccer 2020: Named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team…Earned NJAC Defensive Player of the Week and Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week on March 22…Took three shots, two of them on goal…Notched one goal for two points, providing the game-winning tally during a 2-0 victory in the pouring rain at Kean University (March 24)…Played every minute in six of the Raptors’ seven games, with the lone exception being 82 minutes in the Kean game…Had a high of 110 minutes in a 0-0 overtime tie against Montclair State (March 31)…Helped the team open the season with a 3-0 win at Ramapo (March 10) and follow up with a 2-0 victory over New Jersey City (March 17)…Took her first shot of the year during a 1-0 win against Stockton (March 20)…In addition to the Kean and regular-season Montclair State games, also started a 3-1 NJAC semifinal win over Ramapo College (April10) and a 1-0 loss in the NJAC title game against Montclair State (April 14).
Soccer 2019: NJAC Honorable Mention…Played in all 18 games, starting 17…Notched two goals for four points…Had one game-winning goal…Took six shots, four on goal for a .667 percentage…Served as one of the team’s four captains…Anchored a defense that posted two shutouts and a 1.98 goals-against average…Helped the team reach the NJAC playoffs for the second straight season…Scored the Raptors’ first goal of the year during a 4-1 season-opening loss against Elizabethtown (Aug. 30)…Notched her first career game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Neumann (Sept. 25)…That goal helped her win honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Sept. 30…Contributed to a 1-0 shutout over Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 12) and a 0-0 double-overtime shutout at Stockton (Nov. 2) in the NJAC playoffs…Played every minute of 13 games, including all 110 in the Stockton playoff game…Helped the defense hold opponents to two or fewer goals in 12 games, including eight contests with one or fewer goals.
 
Soccer 2018: Named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year…Earned NJAC Second Team honors…Named Rutgers--Camden’s Raptor of the Week on September 17…Started all of her 18 games…Collected one assist…Anchored a defense that earned six shutouts and posted a 1.23 goals-against average…Helped the Scarlet Raptors qualify for the NJAC playoffs and the ECAC playoffs, earning their first post-season berth since 2007…Made her collegiate debut in a 4-2 season-opening loss at Elizabethtown College (Aug. 31)…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post their first shutout of the season, and earn their first win, in a 1-0 victory over Lancaster Bible College (Sept. 5)…Led strong defensive efforts that allowed the Scarlet Raptors to post overtime ties against a pair of NJAC powers in a 1-1 deadlock against Montclair State University (Sept. 15) and a 0-0 tie against Rowan University (Oct. 10)…Helped the Raptors post NJAC shutouts against New Jersey City University (4-0, Sept. 29), Ramapo College (2-0, Oct. 13) and William Paterson University (2-0, Oct. 20)…Earned her first collegiate point with an assist on the Raptors’ lone goal in a 2-1 NJAC playoff loss against Montclair State (Oct. 27)…Took her lone shot of the season in the Raptors’ 3-0 loss to Widener University (Nov. 10) in the ECAC playoffs.
 
High School: Captured three varsity letters at Washington Township High School for Coach Bill Alvero…Earned Rookie of the Year honors as a sophomore and Defensive Player of the Year as a junior…All-South Jersey Second Team and All-State sectional recognition as a junior…All-Olympic Conference First Team and Washington Township team captain, junior and senior years…All-South Jersey First Team as a senior…All-State Top 20 South Region as a senior…NJ.com All-State Third Team, NJ.com All-Group IV Second Team, Courier-Post All-South Jersey First Team and team MVP as a senior…Honors Graduate and Seal of Biliteracy in German…Graduated in 2018.
