Biography

A defensive standout as a center back, Brielle Stoner has anchored the Rutgers-Camden defense since 2016, when she transferred to the school after playing her freshman season at Division II Kutztown University. In her two seasons with the Scarlet Raptors, she has played in all 32 Rutgers-Camden games, starting 30.
 
Stoner earned All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore and captured All-NJAC Academic Honorable Mention during her junior year. She also has earned Dean’s List recognition and has captured a berth on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during each of her four semesters on campus.
 
In her combined three-year collegiate career at Rutgers-Camden and Kutztown, she has played in 41 games, starting 35 and adding one goal.
  
Stoner will serve as one of the Scarlet Raptors’ four captains this season.

Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention, 2017-18 scholastic year; Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll 2016 Fall, 2017 Spring, 2017 Fall and 2018 Spring semesters. One of only nine student-athletes, out of 141 on the 2017 Fall AD Honor Roll, to achieve a perfect 4.0 GPA; Dean’s List.
 
Soccer 2017: Appeared in all 16 Rutgers-Camden games, starting 14…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post a 2.41 team goals-against average despite playing four nationally-ranked teams, including two (TCNJ and Johns Hopkins) that finished in the Top 6…Outside of those four games, the Scarlet Raptors posted a 1.55 GAA…The Johns Hopkins game (an 8-1 loss on Sept. 20) was one of the two games she didn’t start all season, appearing in only 27 minutes…Helped team post a 1-0 shutout over North Carolina Wesleyan (Sept. 10) and a 1-0 win over Kean University (Oct. 14)…Helped to hold five opponents to one goal, including wins over Shenandoah University (2-1, Sept. 9), Rosemont College (5-1, Sept. 13), Ramapo College (2-1, Sept. 30) and Lancaster Bible (4-1, Oct. 4) and a 1-0 loss at Stockton University (Oct. 25).
 
Soccer 2016: Started all of the Raptors’ 16 games and played practically every minute of the season…Took five shots, two on goal…Earned NJAC Honorable Mention…Helped Rutgers-Camden post a 1.55 goals-against average despite playing six teams ranked in the national Top 25…Played every minute of all three Raptor shutouts…Had two shots on goal in a 2-1 loss at William Paterson University (Oct. 22).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played nine games at Kutztown University in 2015, starting the last five…Notched one goal on her lone shot of the season, coming in her second collegiate game, a 5-0 win at Lock Haven (Sept. 9)…Made her Kutztown debut in a 1-1 tie at Charleston (Sept. 5)…Made her first collegiate start at California (PA), helping the Golden Bears post a 2-0 victory on Oct. 3…Dean’s List honors for the 2015 fall semester.
 
High School: Captured four varsity soccer letters for Coach Kevin Meder at Lenape High School, graduating in 2015…Helped the Indians capture four South Jersey Coaches Tournament titles, four South Jersey Group IV sectional championships and the 2011 Group IV state title…Team captain…Also earned two varsity letters in spring track, competing in the pole vault…Principal’s List and Honor Roll all four years…National Art Honor Society…Was a Lenape People’s Choice Award winner in 2011…David Logar Soccer Scholarship Winner for Academic and Athletic Achievement in 2015.
 
Club Team: PDA South, 2009-2015…Served as team captain four years…Led club to NPL national championship in 2014…NPL national finalist in 2015.
 
Personal: Born October 17, 1996…Loves the outdoors – hiking, camping, skiing and going to the beach…”I also love traveling all over the country and world and try to do so as much as I can. The best is when I can do all of those things with my friends and family.”…Fine Arts major at Rutgers-Camden with a Psychology minor…Hopes to get a job in the art industry and “move somewhere out west to start this new chapter of my life”…Brielle is the daughter of Terri and Douglas Stoner of Mount Laurel.
