Kim Chiarelli joined the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff for the 2015 season, and her guidance played a major role in helping the Scarlet Raptors challenge for a New Jersey Athletic Conference playoff berth. Although the Scarlet Raptors missed a post-season spot on the last day of the season, their 6-8-2 record marked the program’s best winning percentage (.438) since the 2008 campaign.

A four-year soccer letterwinner at Drexel University, Chiarelli returns to the Scarlet Raptors’ coaching staff this fall.

Chiarelli’s wide-ranging soccer experience includes two seasons playing with the Atlantic City Diablos of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (2007-2008). She played four seasons at Drexel (2007-2010), starting 51 of her 63 games and collecting four goals and seven assists for 15 points. She served as the Dragons’ team captain during her senior season.

Chiarelli notched a pair of game-winning goals as a freshman in 2007, coming in 1-0 victories over New Jersey Institute of Technology (Sept. 19) and Northeastern University (October 28). The goal against Northeastern helped her earn Rookie of the Week honors in the Colonial Athletic Association and she was named to the CAA’s 2007 All-Rookie Team.

While continuing her undergraduate studies, Chiarelli worked as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Chestnut Hill College during the 2011spring semester. She became an assistant coach at Drexel during the 2012 fall semester and has been an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach/Operations Manager for Drexel since 2014. She has worked with the Dragons’ program in a wide range of capacities, from game day operations to travel accommodations, training, social media sites and academic monitoring.

Chiarelli received her Bachelor of Science in Communication from Drexel in 2012 and completed her Master of Sport Management from the school during the 2015 spring semester. While working toward her graduate degree, she also served as an Assistant to Drexel’s Sports Information Director.

A four-year scholastic standout at Bishop Eustace Prep, Chiarelli earned First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-South Jersey with the Crusaders. She helped her team capture conference and state titles in 2004 and 2006. She also participated in varsity track and crew at Bishop Eustace, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

A Bridgeton resident, Chiarelli holds a National F Coaching License and NCAA Division I Recruiting Certification.
