Biography

One of the top defenders in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Gianna Patitucci has earned all-conference honors during both of her seasons at Rutgers-Camden. A transfer from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Patitucci has played in 35 games for the Scarlet Raptors over her two seasons in Camden, starting all 35 and helping the team post 13 shutouts.
 
Combined with her freshman season at West Virginia Wesleyan, Patitucci has played in 44 collegiate matches, starting 40. She has added numerous academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.
 
One of the team’s four captains in 2024, she will be a tri-captain in 2025.

Soccer 2024: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Served as one of the Scarlet Raptors’ four team captains…One of only four players to start all 19 Rutgers-Camden games…Contributed to all six of the Scarlet Raptors’ shutouts, while holding opponents to one goal on six other occasions…Notched one goal and two assists for four points… Helped the team post shutouts against Washington College (0-0, Sept. 11), King’s (3-0, Sept. 15), Bryn Athyn (4-0, Sept. 18), Arcadia (2-0, Sept. 24), Ramapo (1-0, Sept. 27) and FDU-Florham (2-0, Oct. 9)…Notched her first Rutgers-Camden assist in a 5-2 win over John Jay (Sept. 21)…Collected her first collegiate goal in a 2-0 victory over Arcadia (Sept. 24), scoring off a long restart over the goalie…Added an assist on the first of two goals by Ava Stowell as the Raptors rallied in the final 17:43 from a two-goal deficit to post a 2-2 tie at Kean (Oct. 26)…Had her season highs of four shots and three shots on goal in the Kean game.
 
Soccer 2023: NJAC Honorable Mention…Started all 16 of her games before missing the Raptors’ final two games with an injury…Played a huge role on a defense that posted a 0.89 goals-against average and seven shutouts, starting all seven of shutouts…Took eight shots, four on goal, for a .500 percentage…Made her Raptor debut in a 3-0 season-opening win over Neumann (Sept. 1), taking two shots…Also started the Raptors’ next two games, both shutouts, with a 3-0 win over King’s (Sept. 2) and a 0-0 deadlock against Albright (Sept. 6)…Had her season high of three shots, two on goal, during a 4-0 shutout at Bryn Athyn (Sept. 16)…Also helped the team post NJAC shutout wins over Ramapo (1-0, Sept. 27), Kean (2-0, Oct. 7) and Rutgers-Newark (1-0, Oct. 14).
 
Pre-Rutgers:  Played in nine games, starting five, as a freshman at West Virginia Wesleyan College…Notched one assist…Took seven shots, four on goal for a .571 percentage…Made her debut starting against Slippery Rock (Aug. 25)…Took her first shot, on goal, at Walsh (Aug. 28)…Had an assist and took three shots against Wheeling (Oct. 26).
 
High School: Captured four varsity letters apiece in soccer and basketball at Our Lady of Mercy Academy…Earned Cape Atlantic League First Team All-Conference in soccer during her freshman year…National Honor Society as a junior and senior…Graduated in 2022.
