Biography
Alexa D’Ilio capped her stellar five-year Rutgers-Camden soccer career as a graduate student in 2024. A tenacious defender, she contributed to 27 shutouts in a Scarlet Raptor uniform while appearing in 71 games, tied for the 14th-highest total in program history.
An outstanding student throughout her collegiate career, D’Ilio captured numerous academic honors at Rutgers-Camden and in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 scholastic years…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and a Dean’s List student for the 2020 Fall, 2021 Spring, 2021 Fall, 2022 Spring, 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2023 Fall, 2024 Spring and 2024 Fall semesters…One of only 21 athletes on the 106-member 2023 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA…One of only 22 athletes on the 151-member 2023 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA…One of only 30 athletes on the 138-member 2024 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA…One of only 23 athletes on the 167-member 2024 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA.
Soccer 2024: Played in 17 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 19 games, starting 11…Took two shots, both on goal…Contributed to all six of the team’s shutouts…Started her first four games of the season, beginning with a 1-1 season-opening tie against Salisbury (August 30)…Contributed to three straight shutouts Sept. 11-18 against Washington College (0-0, Sept. 11), King’s (3-0, Sept. 15) and Bryn Athyn (4-0, Sept. 18)…Started four straight games from Sept. 24-Oct. 5, beginning with back-to-back shutouts over Arcadia (2-0, Sept. 24) and Ramapo (1-0, Sept. 27)…Took her lone shots in games against Bryn Athyn (Sept. 18) and Rowan (Oct. 5)…Started her last three games of the season, including a 2-2 conference tie at Kean (Oct. 26).
Soccer 2023: Played in all 18 Rutgers-Camden games, starting 16…Took seven shots, two on goal…Started all seven shutouts for the team and helped the Raptors compile a 0.89 team goals-against average…Took her season high of two shots against both Neumann (a 3-0 win Sept. 1) and Bryn Athyn (a 4-0 win Sept. 16)…Started the first four games of the season, helping Rutgers-Camden post three straight shutouts and run its season-opening shutout string to 324:54 before the Raptors allowed a penalty kick goal in a 3-1 win over Hartwick (Sept. 9)…Helped Rutgers-Camden hold nationally-ranked Montclair State and The College of New Jersey to only one goal apiece in 1-0 Raptor losses Oct. 21 and 25, respectively.
Soccer 2022: Played in all 18 Rutgers-Camden games…Made the first 10 starts of her career…Took seven shots, five on goal…Contributed to four shutouts and helped the team hold opponents to one goal on six other occasions…Made her first career start in a season-opening 2-0 loss to Lynchburg (Sept. 3)…Also started the next three games for Rutgers-Camden…Started a 0-0 tie against Kean (Oct. 8)…Started five of the Raptors’ final six games, including both games in the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs, which ended in ties and were decided by penalty kicks…In a quarterfinal game (1-1 against Rutgers-Newark), took three shots, two on goal, as the Raptors advanced on penalty kicks to the semifinals…Held powerful Montclair State to a 0-0 draw through double overtime before the Red Hawks advanced to the NJAC title game on penalty kicks (Nov. 2).
Soccer 2021: Appeared in 12 of the Raptors’ 17 games…Contributed to three of the team’s five shutouts and helped hold opponents to one goal on six other occasions…Played her season high of 53 minutes in a 2-1 loss against Adrian College (Sept. 4).
Soccer 2020: Played in six games…Took one shot, scoring an insurance goal in a 2-0 victory at Kean (March 24)…Made her collegiate debut in the season-opening 3-0 win at Ramapo (March 10), playing 24 minutes…Played her season high of 32 minutes in a 2-0 shutout against New Jersey City (March 17)…Appeared in all five Rutgers-Camden shutouts, including a 1-0 win over Stockton (March 20), the 2-0 win at Kean and a 0-0 tie against Montclair State (March 31)…Helped the Raptors post a 3-1 win over Ramapo in the New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinals (April 10).
High School: Captured two varsity letters in soccer for Coach Gemma Winkler…Added one varsity letter in winter track…Graduated in 2020.
