Biography

After serving as the Scarlet Raptors’ top goalie during her first two years with the program, Leighanna Milby added another dimension to her collegiate career as a junior, spending time as a forward in addition to seeing action in goal. She finished tied for fifth on the team in scoring, while also continuing her climb among the career goalie leaders at Rutgers-Camden.

Milby has faced more shots (600) than any goalie in program history and is second on the career chart with 223 saves. She needs 61 saves to tie the Raptors’ career leader, Kristen Stewart (1998-2001).

Milby also is deadlocked for the most goalie ties in program history (five) and owns the third-best goals-against average (2.39) of all Scarlet Raptor goalies qualifying for the NCAA minimum of 2,500 minutes played in a career. Her 2,784:30 minutes played in goal also rank third on the all-time program chart.

Soccer 2012: Played in 17 games overall, starting four…As a goalie, played seven games, starting three…Had five shots, four on goal, and collected one goal and one assist for three points…Had an .800 shots on goal percentage…In goal, posted a 2.74 goals-against average in 459:18 of playing time, facing 103 shots, allowing 14 goals and making 41 saves…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Oct. 29…Tied the single-game program record for a goalie with 17 saves against Montclair State University (Sept. 29) while facing 32 shots, tied for the eighth-highest single-game mark by a keeper…Faced 35 shots against national power The College of New Jersey (Sept. 26), the fourth-highest single-game total by a goalie in program history. Made 11 saves in that game, a 5-1 win for TCNJ…Played the final 94:37 in goal of a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 15), making four saves without allowing a goal to earn her fifth career tie…Allowed only one goal and made six saves in a 1-0 loss at Kean University (Sept. 22)…Played 22:42 in goal during a combined 6-0 shutout over John Jay College of Criminal Justice (Oct. 1)…Made her season debut off the bench as a field player against St. Joseph’s College-Long Island (Sept. 2) and took her first career shot – a shot on goal – in a 2-0 loss at Wesley College (Sept. 5)…Had her finest game as a field player in the Raptors’ last contest of the season to help Rutgers-Camden edge New Jersey City University, 2-1, in double overtime Oct. 24. Scored the game-tying goal at 60:10 on a one-timer at the left post for her first career tally and assisted on Dawn Dixon’s game-winning goal at 104:10…The performance earned her honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Oct. 29.

Soccer 2011: Started all 15 games for the Scarlet Raptors and received every decision in the team’s 2-11-2 season…Played 1379:49 of the team’s 1390 minutes in goal, the fifth-highest single-season total in program history…Set a Rutgers-Camden season record for goalkeepers by facing 296 shots, a mark broken in 2012 when Lauren West faced 301 shots…Collected 109 saves, the third-highest mark on the program’s single-season charts…Compiled a 2.35 goals-against average, a .752 saves percentage and two shutouts…Notched first career shutout by making 11 saves in a scoreless deadlock against Salisbury University (Sept. 1)…Earned first career win with six saves in a 3-2 victory at Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 19)…Added her second shutout and second win in a 2-0 victory at Ramapo College (Oct. 22), making four saves…Allowed two or fewer goals in nine games for the young Scarlet Raptors…Out of the top 25 games in program history for shots faced by a goalie, Milby played in six of them during her sophomore season, including 32 shots faced against Haverford College (Sept. 4), tied for the sixth-highest single-game total…Also faced 30 shots against The College of New Jersey (Sept. 28), 29 against New Jersey City University (Oct. 26), 28 against Rowan University (Sept. 21), 24 against Salisbury University (Sept. 1) and 23 against Montclair State University (Oct. 1)…Made a career-high 14 saves against TCNJ in the Sept. 28 contest, tied for the fifth-highest single-game total in program history…Also had 13 saves against Haverford (Sept. 4), tied for the eighth-best single-game mark.

Soccer 2010: Played in 14 games, starting 10 as a freshman goalie…Compiled 945:23 minutes in goal, notching 73 saves, a .753 save percentage and a 2.28 goals-against average…Posted 0-11-2 record and allowed 24 goals…Her 201 shots faced were the third-highest single-season mark in program history at that time and now rank fifth…Ranked among the NJAC goalkeeper leaders in goals-against average (11th), save percentage (ninth), saves (sixth) and saves per game (fourth, 5.21)…Faced 27 shots against Rowan University (Sept. 22) and 26 against The College of New Jersey (Sept. 29), tied for the 10th- and 13th-highest single-game goalie totals, respectively, in program history…Had a personal high of 11 saves in the Rowan game…Made her collegiate debut playing the first half of a 5-0 loss against Widener University (Sept. 14), allowing two goals and making one save while facing 11 shots…Notched a 1-1 tie against Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 18), playing 55 minutes and allowing one goal while making five saves…Also earned a 1-1 tie at Kean University (Sept. 25), making seven saves without allowing a goal in 65 minutes…Faced 20 or more shots in three straight games, including 27 against Rowan (Sept. 22), 20 against Kean (Sept. 25) and 26 against The College of New Jersey (Sept. 29), making 11, seven and six saves, respectively…Had nine saves while suffering a 1-0 loss to Alvernia (Oct. 6), one of five games in which she was the losing goalie in a 1-0 game…The final 1-0 loss came against New Jersey City University (Oct. 27), despite making seven saves.

High School: Earned eight varsity letters in soccer, basketball and softball at Highland Regional High School…Played for Coach Jim Smith…Named the Tartans’ team MVP as a sophomore…Captured Second Team All-Tri-County Conference Royal Division honors as a junior…Named to the Courier-Post newspaper’s All-Group 3 Second Team during her senior year…Ranked 21st in her class…National Honor Society.
