Biography
After playing two seasons at Nyack College, Lexis Evans made an immediate impact during her first year with the Rutgers-Camden women’s soccer program in 2017. A stellar marking back, Evans played in 14 games, starting 11. In the classroom, she earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention and was a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during both of her semesters.
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention, 2017-18 scholastic year; Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll 2017 Fall and 2018 Spring semesters.
Soccer 2017: Started 11 of her 14 games…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post a 1-0 shutout over North Carolina Wesleyan (Sept. 10) and hold five other opponents to one goal apiece…Started her first 11 games at Rutgers-Camden, including the season-opening contest against Elizabethtown College (Sept. 1), when the Raptors dropped a 3-0 decision…Took her only shot of the season in that game, putting it on goal for a 1.000 shots-on-goal percentage…Helped limit opponents to one goal in victories over Shenandoah University (2-1, Sept. 9), Rosemont College (5-1, Sept. 13), Lancaster Bible College (4-1, Oct. 4) and William Paterson University (2-1, Oct. 21) as well as a 1-0 loss at Stockton University (Oct. 25).
Pre-Rutgers: Played two seasons at Nyack College, appearing in a total of 17 games, making 10 starts and collecting one goal for two points…As a freshman in 2015, played in four games, making one start…Made collegiate debut against Saint Rose (Sept. 4, 2015) and made first start against Dominican (Oct. 27, 2015)…As a sophomore, started nine of her 13 games, collecting one goal for two points…Took three shots, two on goal…Notched her first career goal to account for Nyack’s lone tally in a 5-1 loss at Roberts Wesleyan (Oct. 26, 2016).
High School: Four-year varsity soccer letterwinner at Sterling High School…Captured First Team All-Conference honors as a senior…Also lettered with Sterling’s winter track and lacrosse teams… National Honor Society.
Club Team: Glassboro Elite Earthquakes.
Personal: Born January 11, 1997…Hobbies include playing soccer, hiking, kayaking and going to the beach…Social Work major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to “advocate for those who can’t (advocate) for themselves on a policy level”…Lexis is the daughter of Cheers and Lance Evans of Magnolia.
