A transfer who played two seasons with Rowan College at Gloucester County and was named the NJCAA Region XIX Pitcher of the Year, Mackenzie Lafferty will help solidify the Scarlet Raptors’ pitching staff this season.

Pre-Rutgers: Played for Rowan College at Gloucester County in 2017 and 2018…Appeared in 59 career games, including 53 on the mound (48 starts)…Had 39 complete games, a 26-22 record, and a 4.69 ERA over 279-1/3 innings…As a freshman, went 18-13 with a 4.71 ERA in 177 innings…Had 123 strikeouts…Pitched the Roadrunners to the Region XIX title and into the Division III National Championship Tournament, earning NJCA Region XIX Pitcher of the Year recognition…Named to the 2017 NJCAA All-Region First Team…Was a 2018 NJCAA Division 3 Pre-Season All-American…As a sophomore, went 8-9 with a 4.65 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 102-1/3 innings.
