
During her second year at Rutgers-Camden in 2016, Maggie Sande blossomed into a standout player for the Scarlet Raptors, playing practically every minute of the season while seeing time in both the midfield and the back. She captured All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention as a midfielder and was named to the NJAC Academic First Team.
Sande transferred to Rutgers-Camden after beginning her collegiate studies and playing club soccer at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to her leadership role on the soccer pitch, Sande has served as a member of the Rutgers-Camden Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is a stellar student as a major in the demanding Nursing field. She was member of the inaugural Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, named after the 2015 fall semester. She repeated on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during the 2016 spring, 2016 fall and 2017 spring semesters and also is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors Society.
Sande has started all 29 of her games at Rutgers-Camden over two years, producing two goals (both game winners) and two assists for six points. A senior academically, she has junior athletic eligibility.
Soccer 2016: One of eight players to start all 16 games for the Scarlet Raptors…Tied for third on the team in both scoring (five points) and goals (two)…Added one assist…Led the team with two game-winning goals…Took 21 shots, 13 on goal…Served as one of the team’s game day captains…Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Named the first Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week for the 2016-17 scholastic year, earning the honor on Sept. 5 after playing all 180 minutes in the team’s first two games of the season and scoring her first collegiate goal in a 1-0 victory over Widener University (Sept. 3)…Notched an assist on the Raptors’ first goal in a 3-2 win over Alvernia University (Sept. 7)…Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 17)…Played all 110 minutes in back-to-back double-overtime ties against Drew University (1-1, Sept. 10) and Moravian College (0-0, Sept. 11)…Contributed to all three of the Scarlet Raptors’ shutouts, playing a combined 285 out of the 290 minutes.
Soccer 2015: Played in 13 of the Raptors’ 16 games, starting all 13…Collected one assist for one point…Had two shots, both on goal…Made collegiate debut in a 1-0 season-opening loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Sept. 3)…Assisted on Amber Cobb’s goal in a 5-0 win at New Jersey City University (Oct. 20)…Also added one shot on goal in that NJCU game…Had her other shot on goal in a 0-0 tie at Stockton University (Oct. 29)…Contributed to three of the Raptors’ four shutouts during the season.
High School: A multi-sport letterwinner at Shawnee High School, she earned four varsity letters in soccer for Coach Drew Wagner…Also captured four track letters between the winter and spring seasons…Earned All-Conference Second Team soccer honors during both her junior and senior seasons…Shawnee soccer team captain…National Honor Society.
