Biography

An All-New Jersey Athletic Conference performer both on the soccer pitch and in the classroom, Rebecca Gougher returns for her fourth and final season with the women’s soccer program. The talented center midfielder has started all 51 of her career games, collecting four goals and five assists for 13 points.
 
Gougher will serve as one of the Scarlet Raptors’ four captains in 2014.643
 
Soccer 2013: Played in 17 of the Raptors’ 18 games, starting all 17…Notched one goal and tied for the team lead with three assists…Tied for fourth on the team with five points…Took 11 shots, six on goal…Named the Rutgers-Camden team MVP…Earned her third consecutive NJAC Honorable Mention recognition…Added NJAC Academic Second Team honors…Played every minute in 12 games, including all 110 minutes of a 0-0 tie against Goucher College (Sept. 14)…Assisted on the Raptors’ lone goal in a 2-1 season-opening loss against FDU-Florham (Aug. 31)…Collected a pair of assists in an 8-0 win over Sarah Lawrence College (Oct. 12)…Scored the Raptors’ lone goal in a 3-1 loss against Catholic University of America (Oct. 8)…Contributed to a defense that posted seven shutouts and a 1.78 team goals-against average.
 
Soccer 2012: Started all 19 games for the Raptors…Second on the club with 1,581 minutes played…Took nine shots, seven on goal…Finished second on the team with three goals scored and seven points…Added one assist…Named NJAC Honorable Mention for the second straight season…Collected her first collegiate goal on Sept. 26 in a 5-1 loss against nationally-ranked The College of New Jersey. Not only was it the Raptors’ lone shot of the game, but it was only the third goal Rutgers-Camden ever scored in its 13-game history against the Lions…Collected two goals on two shots in a 6-0 victory at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (Oct. 1)…Had her lone assist of the season on the game-tying goal by Leighanna Milby in an eventual 2-1 Raptor win over New Jersey City University (Oct. 24) in the season finale…That assist was the second of her career, with both coming against the Gothic Knights.

Soccer 2011: Center midfielder who started all 15 of the Scarlet Raptors’ games, one of only six players on the team to do so…Took four shots and collected one assist. Earned NJAC Honorable Mention…Made collegiate debut in a scoreless tie against Salisbury University (Sept. 1)…Also contributed to a 2-0 shutout at Ramapo College (Oct. 22)…Part of a defensive effort that held opponents to two or fewer goals in nine of the Raptors’ 15 games…Earned her first collegiate point with an assist on a goal by Bec Garretson in a 2-1 loss against New Jersey City University (Oct. 26).
