Rebecca Maguire returns to the Scarlet Raptors for her third and final season at Rutgers-Camden. A transfer from Division II Millersville University, she has played in 26 games, starting 23, at Rutgers-Camden.
In her combined thee-year collegiate career, Maguire has started 41 of her 44 games and contributed to 11 shutouts.
In addition to her soccer accomplishments, Maguire captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention last year. She was a member of the inaugural Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2015 fall semester and added Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognition during the 2016 spring semester.
Soccer 2015: Played in nine games, starting six, as a midfielder and forward…Took 11 shots, with five on goal…Had four shots and put two on goal in a season-opening 1-0 loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Sept. 3)…Had four shots, one on goal, in a 4-1 win over Cabrini College (Sept. 4).
Soccer 2014: Started all of her 17 games…Had 11 shots, six on goal…Made her Scarlet Raptor debut against Castleton State (Aug. 30) in the first game of the Rutland Herald Invitational…Started all seven of the Raptors’ shutouts and played 90 or more minutes in six of them, including all 110 minutes in a 0-0 double-overtime tie at Washington College (Sept. 17)…Had two shots, one on goal, against both Washington College and Kean (Oct. 4).
Pre-Rutgers: Started all 18 games for Millersville as a freshman in 2013…Helped the Mules post four shutouts and a 1.07 goals-against average…Notched one goal and it proved to be a game winner, coming 3:36 into the first overtime to beat Mansfield, 1-0, on Sept. 14…Finished the season with four shots, two of them on goal.
High School: Captured 11 varsity letters at Absegami High School, including four in soccer, three apiece in winter track and softball and one in swimming…National Honor Society.
Personal: Nicknamed “Mags”…Born October 13, 1994…Hobbies include soccer, surfing, going to the beach, traveling and snowboarding…Her interest in the medical field has led to a Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden…Plans to attend graduate school and eventually become a nurse anesthetist living in California…Rebecca is the daughter of Robert and Helen Maguire of Galloway.
