A former cross country and track star at Rowan University, Brian Quilty joined the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff in 2022 as he pursued his graduate degree in Biology, graduating in 2023. After a year away from the Scarlet Raptors’ cross country program, he returned again for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Quilty was a four-year letterman for the Profs in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track, where he was a four-time All-CTC (Collegiate Track Conference) performer in cross country. He added New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team cross country honors in 2008. He also earned four National Collegiate Athletic Student-Athlete Awards before graduating from Rowan in 2011 with a degree in Health Promotion and Fitness Management.
Quilty has continued his running career as a member of the Breakneck Track Club since 2011. He is a seven-time winner of the Flying Fish 5K (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022). He was the Penn Relays Summer Showcase 5K winner in 2021, a two-time Spring Lake 5-mile winner (2018, 2019), a two-time Pitman 4-mile winner (2018, 2019), a Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge 10K winner (2017) and a winner at the USATF NJ 5K Cross Country Championships (2019). He finished second at the Haddonfield Adrenaline 5K (2018), eighth in the Penn Relays Olympic Development 10K (2018) and 12th in the Philadelphia Half Marathon (2018).
Quilty’s personal records include times in the mile (4:19), 3K (8:28),, 5K (14:31), 8K (24:44), 10K (30:37), Half marathon (70:04) and Marathon (2:37:18).
During his scholastic days at Saint Rose High School in Belmar, Quilty earned two varsity letters apiece in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. He was the team captain for the cross country and track programs as a senior, as well as earning cross country MVP honors that year.
The SNAP-Ed Program Associate Supervisor at Rutgers, Quilty has been employed with the university for six years. He is a resident of Pitman.
