Junior Richard Stolz is off to a terrific start to his Rutgers-Camden golf career. A transfer from national golf power Methodist University, Stolz has been the overall medalist at the last three invitationals the Scarlet Raptors have played. His latest stellar outing came on Oct. 16 when he shot a 1-under par 70 to beat a field of 72 golfers at the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational, played at the Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz, Penn. After shooting an 82 in his first Raptor appearance Sept. 28 (finishing tied for 17th of 59 golfers at the Moravian College Fall Invitational), Stolz started his medalist streak Oct. 1, carding a 5-over par 76 to lead a field of 22 golfers at the Stockton University Fall Invitational. On Oct. 10, he earned medalist honors again, beating a field of 44 golfers at the Penn College Invitational with a 2-over par 73. In his four rounds this fall, Stolz is averaging 75.3. He was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Oct. 10 and was the NEAC’s Co-Golfer of the Week Oct. 17. The NEAC will announce this week’s Golfer of the Week on Tuesday.
