Junior midfielder Vincenzo Masitti had a big weekend to propel Rutgers University-Camden to a pair of wins and lift the Scarlet Raptors into the semifinals of the ECAC Div. III Men’s Soccer Championship. Masitti collected his team-leading seventh assist Saturday on the Raptors’ first goal, sparking the team to a 2-1 win over SUNY-Maritime in the first round of the ECAC tourney. On Sunday, facing host Arcadia University, the top seed in the four-team pod, Masitti scored the game’s first goal, which proved to be the game winner in a 2-0 Raptor quarterfinal victory. The goal was his fifth of the season and lifted him into the team scoring lead with 17 points. The win gave Rutgers-Camden a berth in Saturday’s semifinals against New York University. The ECAC semifinals and championship game will be played at Lebanon Valley College.
