Biography

A fixture in the Scarlet Raptors’ midfield during his freshman year in 2015, Vinny Masitti returns to Rutgers-Camden after playing his sophomore season with Rowan College at Burlington County.  In his combined two-year collegiate career, he has played in 41 games, starting 33, and producing 14 goals, 10 assists and 38 points.
 
During his first semester at Rutgers-Camden, Masitti also was a member of the inaugural Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (Fall 2015).
 
Soccer 2016: Played in 17 games, starting 16, for Rowan College at Burlington County…Collected 11 goals, including one game winner, and eight assists for 30 points…Notched a hat trick during the Barons’ 7-1 victory over Manor (Oct. 11).
 
8239Soccer 2015: Played in all 24 games, starting 17…Finished fourth on the team in scoring with eight points (three goals, two assists)…Took 15 shots, eight on goal…Collected his one game-winning goal in his first career game and start, coming against Rosemont College (Sept. 1) in the Raptors’ season-opening 9-0 win…In that game, he notched one of the fastest goals in program history, scoring 34 seconds into the contest…That tally was only 14 seconds off the single-game fastest strike accomplished by Mike Zeno on Oct. 12, 1994, which was 20 seconds into a game against Rowan…Added another goal against Rosemont at 16:52, giving him two goals and four points in his first collegiate game…Notched his first career assist against New Jersey City University (Sept. 21), assisting Mike Ryan’s game-tying goal in an eventual 3-1 Raptor win…Scored the team’s fourth goal during a 5-1 victory over Ramapo College (Oct. 10)…Assisted on Shane Guyer’s insurance goal during a 2-0 victory over Stockton University (Oct. 29) to help the Scarlet Raptors clinch the third seed for the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs…Scored the third of the Scarlet Raptors’ five successful penalty kicks as they won a PK shootout, 5-4, to clinch the NJAC championship over Montclair State University (Nov. 7) after the two teams played to a 0-0 deadlock through overtime…Played his season high of 79 minutes during a 1-0 loss at The College of New Jersey (Oct. 14).
 
High School: Four-year varsity soccer letterman at New Egypt High School for Coach Sam Palumbo…Top five state assist leader as a senior…Soccer Coaches Association of New Jersey Honorable Mention All-State…All-Burlington County Patriot Division First Team as a junior and a senior…First Team All-Area senior year and Second Team All-Area as a junior…Second Team All-Group as a senior…Third Team All-County as a junior.
