Track star Cameron Dobbins closes the 2017-18 scholastic year with his fourth Raptor of the Week honor during his junior season. Dobbins had another impressive showing last week as he competed in the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Wednesday and Thursday at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. During the 100-meter dash preliminaries on Wednesday, he qualified sixth of 18 with an 11:02 clocking. On Thursday, he finished fourth of seven in the 100-meter dash (11.03) and fourth of 10 in the 200-meter dash (22.41) to collect 10 points for the Rutgers-Camden men, helping the Scarlet Raptors roll up 27 points and finish 13th out of the 28 scoring teams. Dobbins’ outdoor track season also included New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honors in the 200-meter dash and NJAC Honorable Mention in the 100-meter dash despite being hampered by injuries during the spring. During the 2017-18 scholastic year, Dobbins also captured the Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week honor on Dec. 4, Jan. 22 and Feb. 26. He has earned 14 Raptor of the Week honors over his three-year collegiate career, has been named Rutgers-Camden’s Male Athlete of the Year as both a sophomore and a junior, has captured numerous NJAC and ECAC honors and set eight indoor and outdoor program records.
