Junior captain Danielle Lemma had a stellar week for the Rutgers-Camden women’s tennis team, helping the Scarlet Raptors win two New Jersey Athletic Conference matches to climb into second place in the NJAC with a 3-1 record. The Raptors’ three conference wins tied their most NJAC victories since re-starting the program during the 2011-12 scholastic year and their five overall wins are the most since the team went 5-7 in 2014-15. Lemma won all four of her matches during the week, capturing two wins in singles and teaming with freshman Tiffany Trivers to earn a pair of doubles victories. Lemma posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles at William Paterson University on Friday and added an 8-0 win at first doubles. In a home match on Sunday against Kean University, she earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles and an 8-2 victory at second doubles. The only returning player on the Scarlet Raptors’ team, Lemma will earn her third Rutgers-Camden tennis letter this year. She owns 16 career singles victories (fifth on the career list), 13 doubles wins (sixth) and 29 total wins (fifth).
