Alexis Jones had a stellar two days at the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in New York City. Jones, the only Rutgers-Camden female to participate in the ECAC meet, captured the championship in the 5,000-meter run with a clocking of 18:36.49, easily winning in a field of four runners on Friday. The next day, Jones placed fourth of eight in the 1,000-meter run while breaking her own program record with a 3:08.74 clocking. She scored 15 points at the two-day meet, single-handedly helping Rutgers-Camden finish 12th among 25 scoring teams in the women’s competition. The March 4 honor marks the fifth time Jones has been named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week this scholastic year. An All-New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team cross country runner last fall, she captured Raptor of the Week honors on Sept. 10, Sept. 24, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12.
