Senior outfielder R.J. Concepcion continued his long hot streak with a 9-for-17 (.529) week in which he had one double, two home runs, six runs scored, five RBIs and one walk, while posting a .941 slugging percentage and a .556 on-base percentage. He also went 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts as he helped the Rutgers-Camden baseball team win all four of its games. His biggest performance came in a 5-for-5 game with four runs, two RBIs, a double and a home run as the Scarlet Raptors defeated New Jersey City University, 17-5, in the nightcap of a doubleheader Saturday. Rutgers-Camden swept that twinbill, with Concepcion going 7-for-9, with five runs, four RBIs, one double and two home runs for the day. His week-long performance extended his eight-game hitting streak, the team’s longest this season, during which he has hit .429 (15-for-35) with three doubles, one triple, two home runs, seven runs and eight RBIs. During the first game of that streak, the opener of a doubleheader against Kean on March 27, his eighth-inning double was his 100th career hit. Concepcion entered that game hitting .167 through the Raptors’ first four contests. He’s now batting .362.
