Freshman forward Jason Angel scored the game-winning goal in both of his first two collegiate games over the weekend, sparking the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer team to a pair of shutout wins over Arcadia (4-0) and Eastern (2-0) at the Cialella Soccer Classic. He scored the team’s first goal of the season only 5:54 into the Arcadia game, drilling a shot from outside the box into the left side of the net, and he broke up a scoreless tie against Eastern by threading a restart between a defensive wall in the 61st minute. Not only did Angel earn honors as the first Raptor of the Week this scholastic year, but he also was honored Tuesday at the first New Jersey Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week.
