Junior forward Emily Owens created numerous chances up top for the Rutgers-Camden women’s soccer team during a 1-1-1 week in which the Scarlet Raptors outplayed all three opponents and outshot them 55-15 (32-8 in shots on goal). The Raptors finished as the tournament runner-up in the Mayor’s Cup in Oneonta, New York, losing the title game 1-0 on a penalty kick despite outshooting SUNY-Oneonta, 15-6. Owens, who was named to the Mayor’s Cup All-Tournament Team, took 10 shots in the Raptors’ three games during the week, with six of them on goal. She scored a goal in a 3-1 win over Hartwick in the Mayor’s Cup opener. For the season she is second on the team in scoring with six points, including two goals, while tying for the team lead with two assists.
