Junior co-captain Joe Auleta switched from the midfield to the back last week and made the nationally-ranked Rutgers University-Camden men’s soccer team all the more deep and dangerous. The Scarlet Raptors continued their winning ways with a 5-0 victory at Eastern University Wednesday and a 2-1 win over 16th-ranked Salisbury University in Camden Saturday, knocking off a pair of previously-undefeated teams. In the process they tied program records for the best undefeated start (7-0), longest winning streak (seven) and longest unbeaten streak (19, going 16-0-3 over the past two seasons) in program history. They have outscored teams, 25-5, this season, including 19-1 in their last five games. A two-time All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team player and the 2011 NJAC Rookie of the Year, Auleta has played in all 53 games during his time at Rutgers-Camden, starting the last 52. In that time, the Raptors have gone 43-5-5 and won the last two NJAC championships. At 7-0, Rutgers-Camden is currently ranked 13th nationally by D3soccer.com and 17th in the NSCAA Top 25. The next rankings come out Tuesday.
