Senior guard Wyatt Polk had another big week to lead the Rutgers University-Camden men’s basketball team to two wins in three games, raising the Scarlet Raptors’ record to 6-4. In the first game of the Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament at Lycoming College Dec. 29, Polk scored 35 points – one shy of his Raptor career high – and added nine rebounds as the Scarlet Raptors lost to the eventual tournament champions. In the consolation win over Penn State-Brandywine Dec. 30, Polk added 24 points, while he netted 19 in a win over Neumann University Jan. 3. For the week he averaged 26.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, while shooting .458 (27-for-59) from the floor and .810 (17-for-21) from the foul line. He is averaging a team-leading 23.7 points for the season. Today’s Raptor of the Week honor is the second this season for Polk, who also earned the recognition on Nov. 24.
