Sophomore forward/center Michelle Obasi had a stellar week as the Rutgers-Camden women’s basketball team opened its season with big wins over Bryn Mawr College (79-45, Nov. 18) and Cedar Crest College (65-34, Nov. 22). In the Bryn Mawr season opener, she collected her fourth career double-double with 11 rebounds and a career-high 27 points, while adding a career-high five steals and tying her career high of three blocked shots. She followed that performance by scoring six points in the opening quarter as the Raptors took a quick 22-6 lead at Cedar Crest College and coasted to the win. In only 21 minutes of playing time in that game, Obasi collected 12 points, while adding three rebounds and a steal. Through two games she is averaging 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 18-for-32 (.563) from the floor.
