Scarlet Raptors compete in FDU-Florham Quad Match

Box Score MADISON, NJ (Oct. 13, 2013) – The Scarlet Raptors traveled to FDU-Florham to compete in a Quad Match this weekend.


Rutgers-Camden opened against Lancaster Bible College on Saturday at 11:00am. The Chargers beat the Scarlet Raptors 3-2 (22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 15-13).


Sydney Allen (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) had a season high 13 kills. Morgan Halbruner (Vorhees, NJ/Eastern) had a stellar performance with 12 kills and 2 assists. Olivia Rowland (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) notched 7 kills.


Sophomore setter Brooke Hassan (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had a team high of 22 assists. Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) recorded her season high with 31 digs.


The Scarlet Raptors second game of the day was against FDU-Florham. The Devils beat the Scarlet Raptors 3-2 (25-20, 13-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-8).


Junior setter Michelle Dixon (Sicklerville, NJ/Eastern) recorded 19 assists while, Brooke Hassan notched 25.


Both Melanie Kaiser and Cari Applegate (Stratford, NJ/Sterling) had career highs in digs. Melanie posted 31 digs while Cari had 27.


Morgan Halbruner had a season high with 17 kills and 5 block assists. Olivia Rowland recorded 4 solo blocks, 3 block assists, and 8 kills.


The Scarlet Raptors final game of the day was against Gwynedd-Mercy College. The Scarlet Raptors beat the Griffins 3-0 (25-13, 25-4, 25-15).


Sydney Allen led the team to victory with 11 services aces in the three set match. The 11 service aces is a new program record for services aces in a three set match and third on service aces overall in a game. Allen also had 6 kills and an assist.


Cari Applegate had a game high 12 digs.


Rutgers-Camden (4-19, NJAC 1-3) will host NJAC rival Kean University on Tuesday, October 15th.
