Halbruner, Rowland lead Scarlet Raptors to victory

Box Score CAMDEN, NJ (Oct. 23, 2013) – The Rutgers-Camden women's volleyball team hosted Delaware Valley College this evening. The Scarlet Raptors beat the Aggies 3-2 (16-25, 25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 20-18).


Sophomore middle hitter Olivia Rowland (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) had a solid defensive performance with a career single-match high 17 kills, a solo block and 2 block assists. Courtnee Wilkerson (Los Angeles, CA/West Adams Prep) also set a new personal best with 16 kills.


Head Coach Matt Dever, "Olivia really stepped her game up tonight. She knew the team needed her leadership and she didn't let them down."


Morgan Halbruner (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) notched 14 kills, 7 digs and 3 block assists. Morgan has 775 career kills, which is 3rd all-time in the programs history.



Head Coach Matt Dever, "It was nice to see Morgan move into 3rd all-time. She has worked extremely hard to accomplish this feat in just three years."


Michelle Dixon (Sicklerville, NJ/Eastern) posted a season high 36 assists, while Brooke Hassan (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) tallied 25. Melanie Kaiser (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) recorded 28 digs.


"The setters did a fantastic job at spreading the ball around," said Dever.


Rutgers-Camden (5-23, NJAC 1-5) will host New Jersey City University on Thursday, October 25th for a New Jersey Athletic Conference Match.
