Rebecca Gougher (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) has been a go-to player throughout her career for the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team, and the three-time all-conference player came up big again here Wednesday night.
Gougher notched the lone goal of the game midway through the second half as the Scarlet Raptors edged Cabrini College, 1-0, in a non-conference game.
For the Scarlet Raptors, who were playing their eighth game away from home in their first nine contests this season, the win lifted their record to 3-5-1. The Cavaliers fell to 2-6.
Rutgers-Camden has won the last four games in its all-time series against Cabrini to take a 4-1 series lead.
Cabrini outshot Rutgers-Camden, 21-11, in the game, including 15-6 in the second half. The Cavaliers also held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks and hit the post twice early in the second half. The only tally of the half, however, came off the foot of Gougher at 66:07. Her first goal of the season and first career game-winning goal was assisted by sophomore forward
