– The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team swept Gwynedd Mercy University on Thursday. The Scarlet Raptors beat the Griffins 3 -0 (25-17, 25-16, & 25-14).
Rutgers-Camden collected 34 kills over the three sets, including 15 in the first set, as it raised its record to 5-8 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC.
Senior setter
Brooke Hassan continued her outstanding play with a big match against the Griffins, notching 9 kills and 22 assists. She also added 11 digs and a block assist.
Sophomore
Cortnee Wilkerson meanwhile, had 9 kills and 15 digs, while senior middle hitter
Sydney Allen collected five kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Allen also had 3 service aces, a solo block and a block assist. Senior middle hitter
Olivia Rowland added 6 kills, 4 solo blocks and a block assist.

Caitlin Marchlowitz notched 4 service aces, 2 kills and 6 digs, while sophomore libero
Erin Thompson had 11 digs and 3 assists.
Tonight the Rutgers-Camden women's volleyball team honored junior
Melanie Kaiser who recorded her 1,000th dig on September 10th against William Paterson University. Melanie is a Three-year volleyball letterwinner. She had 563 digs her freshman season in 2013 and notched 394 digs her sophomore season in 2014. She is third on the Rutgers-Camden Career Digs Record with 1,057 Career Digs.
Rutgers-Camden (5-8, NJAC 1-1) will travel to Montclair State University on Tuesday, September 6
th at 7pm.
