Box Score CAMDEN, NJ – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team swept Medgar Evers College on Saturday. The Scarlet Raptors beat the Cougars 3 -0 (25-5, 25-13, & 25-12).
Rutgers-Camden collected 35 kills over the three sets, including 13 in the first set, as it raised its record to 12-10 overall and 4-3 in the NJAC.
Senior setter
Brooke Hassan continued her outstanding play with a big match against the Cougars, notching 5 kills and 27 assists. She also added 5 digs, 2 block assists and a service ace.
Senior
Olivia Rowland meanwhile, had 13 kills, a solo block and 2 block assists, while senior middle hitter
Sydney Allen collected seven kills and two service aces. Senior outside hitter
Kristin Bellamy added 2 kills and a dig.
Junior
Melanie Kaiser notched 9 service aces and 3 digs, while sophomore libero
Erin Thompson had 8 digs and 3 assists.
Tonight the Rutgers-Camden women's volleyball team honors four players who have contributed to the stellar success of the program over the last several years. The women's volleyball program and the entire Rutgers-Camden community celebrates their accomplishments and wishes Sydney, Kristin, Brooke, and Olivia all the best in their future.
Rutgers-Camden (12-10, NJAC 4-3) will host Kean University on Tuesday, October 27
th at 7pm.
