ALFRED, NY – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team traveled to Alfred State College on Wednesday for the first round of the ECAC Metro/Upstate Volleyball Championship. The Pioneers beat the Scarlet Raptors 3-to-1 (25-23, 29-27, 28-30 & 25-9). 

Senior setter Brooke Hassan notched 34 assists, 5 kills, 6 digs and a block assist. She also added 11 digs and a block assist. Junior Caitlin Marchlowitz had a service ace, 4 kills and 16 digs, while sophomore libero Erin Thompson had 30 digs and 4 kills.

Sophomore Cortnee Wilkerson meanwhile, had 11 kills and 5 digs, while senior middle hitter Olivia Rowland collected 11 kills and a .476 hitting percentage. Rowland also had 4 solo blocks, and a dig. Melanie Kaiser added 10 kills, 2 assists and 6 digs.

Senior middle hitter Sydney Allen notched a service ace, 9 kills, a solo block, a block assist and 5 digs.

Rutgers-Camden finished the season 13-14 overall and 4-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
