Box Score

CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 12, 2015) – Senior guard/forward Kamari Talley (Camden, NJ/Creative Arts) set a Rutgers University-Camden single-game record with 30 rebounds, while adding 28 points, and the Scarlet Raptors scored the first 10 points in overtime on the way to a 65-59 victory over William Paterson University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference women's basketball game here Saturday.

The victory evens the Scarlet Raptors' record at 4-4 overall, while Paterson falls to 4-5. Both teams are 2-3 in NJAC play.

The win broke Rutgers-Camden's 18-game losing streak in the series, dating back to their last victory on Feb. 8, 2003. Paterson holds a 49-10 lead in the all-time series.

With her sixth straight double-double, Talley not only tied her career scoring high at Rutgers-Camden, but shattered the previous program mark of 28 rebounds, established by Ta-Wanda Preston against Philadelphia Pharmacy on Jan. 20, 1990. Her 28 points tied her high set against Rowan University on Jan. 29, 2015, while her 30 rebounds were 11 more than her previous Raptor high of 19, set in back-to-back games against Kean (Dec. 5) and Stockton (Dec. 9).

Trailing, 39-33, entering the fourth quarter, Rutgers-Camden outscored Paterson, 21-15, to send the game into overtime. The lead switched hands eight times in the final quarter and the Pioneers took a 54-52 advantage with 16 seconds remaining on a layup by junior guard Nikole Williams (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream Central) before the Raptors tied it with seven seconds left on a layup by freshman guard Ariel Robinson (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic).

In overtime, Robinson broke the deadlock for good with a jumper, sparking a 10-point run that included four points by freshman guard Gabby Greene (Howell, NJ/Howell) and two apiece by Robinson, Talley and sophomore guard/forward Cara Racobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic).

Talley collected 19 points and 18 rebounds in the second half, while finishing with 20 defensive boards among her total of 30.

Robinson added a career-high 12 points, five more than she scored against Kean on Dec. 5. Greene also scored 12 points, while Racobaldo added 10 points, six assists and eight steals, one shy of her career high in steals.

Paterson received 19 points from senior forward Alex Milne (Howell, NJ/Howell), while senior guard Brittany Harden (Millville, NJ/Sacred Heart) added 13. Both Milne and Harden grabbed eight rebounds and Harden dished off five assists.

Rutgers-Camden closes out its pre-holiday schedule with a non-conference home game Sunday, hosting John Jay College of Criminal Justice at 3 p.m.

Paterson has one more game before the Christmas break, playing a 7 p.m. non-conference contest Dec. 22 at the College of Staten Island.
