CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 22, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team collected 56 kills and 53 assists as it defeated Brooklyn College, 3-1, in the opener of a non-conference home tri-match here Saturday, snapping a five-match losing streak. The Scarlet Raptors beat the Bulldogs, 21-25, 25-11, 25-12 and 25-19.
Rutgers-Camden lost its second match of the day against Wilkes University, 20-25, 26-24, 22-25 and 16-25.
In the other match of the day, Wilkes swept Brooklyn, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18.
Rutgers-Camden, 3-10 overall, returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference play Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at William Paterson University.

The Scarlet Raptors stormed back after a first-set loss to topple Brooklyn, as their 53 assists tied for the second-highest four-set assist total in program history, while their 56 kills were the fifth-highest team total in a four-set match.
Leading the way in kills was junior outside hitter
Jamie Mulligan, pictured above, who had a match-high 17 kills. Her sister, junior outside hitter
Morgan Mulligan, added 13 kills and 11 digs, while freshman middle hitter
Devyn Cobb collected 10 kills, two solo blocks and two block assists.
Freshmen setters
Brinn Hassan and
Kayla Benesz distributed 27 and 21 assists, respectively, while Hassan notched four of the Raptors' 10 service aces. Both Benesz and freshman defensive specialist/libero
Morgan Fox had two aces apiece. Benesz added 10 digs.
Fox led the team with 19 digs, while sophomore libero/defensive specialist
Ashley Newman added 14.
Senior middle hitter
Myiah Gatling had three block assists and five kills, while freshman outside hitter
Nicole Long had eight kills and six digs.
Wilkes 3, Rutgers-Camden 1
The Colonels captured the final two sets to improve to 11-4 and complete a sweep of their two matches on the afternoon.

Jamie Mulligan paced the Scarlet Raptors with 11, 10 and nine kills, respectively, while Benesz notched 19 assists and Hassan added 15. Hassan and
Morgan Mulligan both collected three service aces.
Morgan Mulligan led the way with 18 digs, while Fox had 15, Benesz notched 14 and Hassan added 10. Cobb had two of the Raptors' four block assists.
