CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 9, 2019) – The DeSales University women's soccer team entered its non-conference game here Wednesday night on a long hot streak and the Bulldogs extended their run against Rutgers University-Camden.
DeSales scored a pair of first-half goals and went on to defeat the Scarlet Raptors, 3-0, for the Bulldogs' eighth straight victory. It was the first meeting ever between the two women's soccer programs.
DeSales improves to 10-2. Rutgers-Camden, which had won three of its previous four games, fell to 3-8.
The Bulldogs scored the only goal they needed just 3:47 into the contest after freshman Sam Monteforte took the ball to the right corner, cut in and sent a cross to the near post. It was finished by junior Rachel Medlar for her third goal of the season.
DeSales tacked on an insurance tally in the 21st minute when freshman Meghan Foley hit a 20-yard shot into the right side, assisted by freshman Allie Trick. Trick capped the scoring in the 77th minute with a high shot from inside the box on the left side. Her team-leading ninth goal was assisted by sophomore Sam Riccardi.
DeSales held an 11-7 advantage in shots, including an 8-4 margin in shots on goal. The Scarlet Raptors had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday when it entertains Rutgers-Newark in a 1 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
